I mean if you are not gonna include the players who played the same role as modric, what even is the criteria? also modric was never the best midfielder or even in the conversation when Xavi, Iniesta, Ozil, Fabregas, Schweinstager, Pirlo were in their prime so I cant really put him in top 5, he had to wait for the greats to fall off to even be in the conversation, top 10 is not bad tho.

CM/CDM: 1.Xavi, 2. Kroos, 3. Matthaus

Yeah well i mean, number 10 is a weird position since it's between a midfielder and attacker. Also Dinho played winger alot. I think since Maradona's and Dinho's attributes were mostly catered towards goalscoring and playmaking and not dictating the pace of the game or recycling etc. I don't see them as true midfielders

was pep the one that was on the pitch. So your trying to say that pep could have a lower league teams midfield and still dominate Europe the way Xavi and Iniesta did. I don't understand how you can watch football and say Xavi and Iniesta did not revolutionise football, there are literal profiles of types of players that were based off of both of their playstyles.
Anytime a young midfielder is coming through anywhere in Europe their always labelled the 'next Iniesta or Xavi' not the next Modric unless their Croatian. That just shows they're a level above.

Good list. Iniesta was always better than Xavi to me since he had more to his game. Xavi couldn't really dribble even tho he was one of the best ever at dictating. If i had to pick a GOAT i'd say Zizou too but Luka is definitely in the convo and he's not retiring yet either
