Listen ik this one is very controversial but imo if Fnatic win this Masters, most probably, this roster is the best Valorant team yet. If they keep on with this pace they could even Champions, not being the first to win 2 titles and b2b but winning 3 titles. Alfajer, Chronicle and Leo are clearly the best 3 player this year with a duelist like Derke and a big brain IGL Boaster. Like seriously It's not the start of Valorant esports that a team understood the game first and is dominating everyone, they are dominating at this stage where everyone have been playing for 3 year.

Just because you say something, doesn't mean it's true. Is it possible FPX could have won. Absolutely. But you, nor I will never know if that is actually how it would have turned out since they weren't there. Reykjavík was Reykjavík. Copenhagen was Copenhagen. Champions was champions. It's a pretty shitty thing to downplay a team's accomplishments by pretending you can peer into some alternate version of reality.
They are the GOAT team as of now but that title sounds like more than it is. We're only 2.5 years of international competition into the esport. 2nd at berlin 2021, 1st at Reykjavik 2022, 3rd at Copenhagen 2022, 2nd at Champions 2022 and now 4th at Tokyo 2023 in a global circuit with dozens of teams. That type of consistency in-arguably makes them the GOAT team for now when no other team has even lifted more than a single trophy.
But that can immediately be argued to be true if Fnatic wins tokyo and absolutely won't be true if Fnatic somehow follows with champions. But that doesn't mean the NRG core wasn't great prior to Fnatic and it won't mean Fnatic weren't great when the next GOAT team comes along. At the end of the day, I'd rather celebrate great teams.
They've placed the highest out of any team last year always placing in the top 3. If gambit didn't die because of russia maybe they could surpass them.
I think FNC are a VERY strong team rn, if they win Tokyo they are arguably the most dominant team ever. But as of right now I believe optic was the strongest team we've seen.
While FNC have only lost 1 game this year, they haven't done as much as ENVY/OPTC. ENVY/OPTIC has the most earnings from masters/champions, the most top 4 performances at international events, and is tied for the most grand finals appearances.
Personally, I consider dominance as a mixture between frequency of results at international events and the quality of said performances. Because this FNC roster is very new I believe automatically throwing them the title of greatest team of all time makes little sense.
Another thing Vision Strikers were undefeated for like 100+ series because they were farming South Korea, win streaks like this don't really matter as much if the rest of your region is kinda shit. Not trying to cause more EU vs NA debate, but half of the EU teams died in groups while losing to two different regions.
If FNC win tomorrow they are the most dominant team in the history of valorant tho, as no team has ever won two international events. Or depending on their future at champions or vct 2024.
