I dont like Valve, but I like CSGO as much as Valorant. Both games are very nice and I dont see any reasons to compare them.

people are conservative, especially in russia. Lots of cis people had no computers and played cs and dota in computer clubs 2000-2010(as i did when i was young), so they continued with csgo and dota2.

Not just valve games. For example some of my friends seriously believe that Lineage 2 were as big as WoW. Just so u can understand how delusional people could be over here

It is mentality supported by ideology throughout centuries I believe - everything new is worse. Cs and dota were first lan games we had in computer clubs thats why it holds special place in our hearts. I still have nostalgia for cs and dota. Hours of games with friends via lan, heated discussions of recent games, inside jokes etc.
But I still prefer Valorant now over cs and lol over Dota. More fun to watch and play, more responsive devs, better treated pro scene. Im in minority tho. Not even close

There are literally 3 CIS teams in the top 5 atm in CSGO tho.
Also Riot not being able to adapt to our retarded laws. Val didn't have voice chat in Russia in the beginning, it certainly didn't help to popularize it here.

here in BR most people still in CSGO too, but It's just because of gaules and FalleN tbh, VALORANT is getting bigger even with no famous players in our scene
