Riot has already established precedent that teams from the same region that went directly into playoffs get placed on opposite brackets. There's also precedent that teams from the same groups go on opposite sides of the bracket, it just sucks that the random draw put apac teams together and americas teams together. I almost wish they just handpicked the most interesting matchups instead but competitive integrity and whatnot

one example is champs 2021. See 0:40 where they talk about teams from same regions is a restriction for groups. idr if they did a playoffs draw show too, but I believe every single international lan except reykjavic 1 has had teams in playoffs from different regions on opposite brackets. You can check the tournament brackets yourself and let me know if that's not the case, i'm doing this all off memory basically.

another example here is from masters Berlin where they did the playoffs bracket draw show & teams form the same group wre restricted from meeting each other early on in the bracket.

I haven't noticed them stray from these ideas since these draw shows even though the draws are now private, we can still see the results are usually consistent with the pattern above.

I wanted a better draw because again and again we are seeing PRX vs DRX. NRG vs Fnc will go hard no doubt cause this has been a long time coming for this match to happen. EG vs Loud also is a regional match. TL vs EDG should be interesting cause Sayf vs Kang Kang should be awesome. But I just feel regional matches here too in the first draw just ain't it man

you're a fucking idiot. iceland, copenhagen, and champs NA had 2 teams and every time they were on the same side of the bracket, meanwhile EMEA had THREE TEAMS. no fucking shit it's more likely for emea to face emea round 1 (and it didnt even happen in iceland).

for lock//in, the SAME thing happened to Americas.

the draw sucks but its still a draw the first 4 teams were placed like this and the groups winners got draw into those so it sucks for now but remember there is a lower bracked so its only first round we get prx/drx fnatic and could get liquid/EDG loud after first rounds its hyped
