Hating players

Whenever a team is doing bad no matter what region, there is always some hate towards a player, maybe not the same player across the board but always some hate. I'm really curious as to why people actually hate the best players. Whether they have a terrible performance or just dislike the player in general, why do you hate that specific player? Is it because they shit on your favorite team all the time, or did they not live up to the expectations when they joined a certain team.

great players=famous=getting put more under the spotlight=more criticism

At the very least, I think it is wrong to direct hate against players on amateur teams like DSG. We don't pay them, do we?

In real sports, it is like you are earning the right to criticize them by paying money to buy merchandise and tickets to the games. This is the biggest difference with esports. We give them nothing.
