It must be the most insecure job of all, right? I mean, how many cases have we seen of players or technical staff being fired after only 2 or 3 bad games?. I know this is something usual in the world of sports, but sometimes it seems to me that it is something very common in e-sports.

This is the case in any professional team sport.

Sentinels fucked up the moment they did not secure visas for marved its been know Tenz gets ill most of the time before matches so this not being secured is a big failure. Im my opinion Sykko is suffering the bad results of sen management. Who how he had to work with a guy who was not in the best condition?

In general being an athlete of some kind is just a really insecure position. You’re consistently competing and just losing once can make you lose all you’ve earned.

you will never lose everything, athletes do not rely solely on playing tournaments, just like actors don't simply rely on roles in movies (might not be the best comparision), they will always have a business that they invest in, they can always be coach or use their experience in a different field as a consultant

Obviously you have to have financial security, but athletes need to invest in that on their own. Unlike other jobs where you have a position on your own without actively competing with anyone else, sports relies on intensity and uncertainty for that financial breakthrough. Most jobs arent fully secure, and a lot of people with the money will invest to grow their capital passively, but just saying your own position within a league can become obsolete with a few bad performances.

apart from the bizarre 100T situation, i don't think we've seen any player fired after a couple games lol. The sykko shit prolly has more to it than we know. Everything's weird now cause global esport recession, but ideally the industry's just as insecure as most jobs in that general income bracket (ref. mostly t1 and 2) + easy as fuck to gain expertise for lol

This is a very good topic that you have touched upon, as to how insecurity and anxiety from it can effect performance...applaud
