Choosing CPU for Valorant

Hey there. I’m building my first pc, so I need your help. Potential pc specs:
GPU: nvidia RTX 3060 12gb dual by palit
Ram: 2x8gb
SSD: 1tb
CPU: 5700x (probably the one I’m choosing) / 5600x / i5 12400
Monitor: benq @240hz

My main questions are:

1. Is 5700x worth paying the difference with i5 12400?
2. Is 5700x good to go with rtx 3060?
3. Is palit good vendor for my gpu?

4. Which motherboard and psu do you recommend in case with each cpu?

   I would also like any kind of your advices and edits about a build

5700x is a good CPU even though there is a new gen for ryzen series but if you could go for the 3d version of the CPU go for it especially when you are going to buy the older gen ryzen.

And i have never used palit or know anyone who uses the card so maybe go for the trusted brands ig

Regardless of your choice, it will be able to run Valorant at max graphics easily, so it doesn't really matter. In general though:

4. I'm not too sure about this, I'd recommend going on a tech forums or discord server like https://pcpartpicker.com and ask them about this.

i would recommend finding a way to sneak in a 3060ti into your budget, and would get a 5600x ryzen chip instead. performance in gaming is similar for both chips, and the 3060ti is a way better get that a standard 3060(use a dif chip)

for GPUs, EVGA is FAR AND AWAY the recommendation, when 3090's started exploding they by far had the best response, and customer service, and their warranty is known for being top-notch. Asus is another quality brand, and the founders editions are actually really decent if you get once at MSRP.(value for your $)

for motherboards, an decent b550 board that meets your requirements for nvme drives, USB a/c, etc is fine. look up someone like gamers nexus or jayz2cents and check out their opinion on boards, really want "narrow to 1", more like choose 2/3 different onces, and buy the cheapest option.

For PSU, use the linus tech tips PSU grading chart, and just get something with a good rating. Depending on if you are going to upgrade in the future or not, you might want to get something bigger than what you actually need to future proof as psu's can last 5-7 years no problem if you get something good. I would recommend getting something around 650 for the current build your making

1. The 5700X Ryzen 7 is superior to an i5 12400.
2. That should be fine.
   3.never heard of Palit but there are no warnings about them online. Plait and Galax use the same manufacturing plants so it’s fine.
3. Google this one. It really depends on your preferences on upgradability and future proofing.

either of those cpus will run val just fine. unless you have like a 360hz monitor you can really use anything

I had an I5 10400, it was decent averaging 180 to 250 so 12400 should be more consistent

5600x is enough for valo, anything else is overkill unless you're a pro player.

i think the 5600x would be a better pairing with ur rtx 3060 imo

i also currently have the 5600x but paired with an rtx 3070ti and since val is pretty cpu bound goin with either a 5600x or even a 5800x should be fine. but if you want best price to performance, 5600x is the move

the Ryzen 5/i5 is a better pairing with the 3060 and will be fine for Val, high 100's to mid 200's FPS.

The Ryzen 7 might be overkill for Val but is a better future-proofing option if you plan on playing other more demanding games. It might bottleneck the 3060 though.

If you have more budget, upgrade gpu to 6750xt($100 more) or 6800($200 more). It is ridiculous how many people are still on the Nvidia train eventhough they have some of the worst value offerings in gaming(RT and workload is still their territory but I don't think that will be your priority).

And even though 5600x is the same performance to 5600, the mobo doesn't support 5600 out of the box, and you need bios flashback to do that(which is only in a $130 mobo). Since the price increase is lower from 5600 to 5600x(+$16), go for 5600x

go for 5600x, it'll give you consistent 240 fps on the game, you can buy the 5700x for future proofing, but i think it'll bottleneck the 3060
imo i feel 240 fps consistent will get you anywhere, be it radiant or challengers league

about gpu brand, i've had msi and zotac, both were great, and i've heard good things about evga as well since the 1080 days (my friend had it). zotac usually comes cheaper than the other brands, not sure about US tho

get the b550 tomahawk mobo for your processor it's cheap and it's very reliable, one thing, there's no wifi on that mobo instead you get 2 lan ports. but i don't think you need wifi when you have ethernet anyway. otherwise get the asus x570e

i've been using evga gold psus for years, you can get them as well, very reliable and trustworthy. a 650w should do the job

READ THIS:

It's not only about choosing 5700x over 12400f.
Try to find a GOOD motherboard with a GREAT sound card, with no latency!
Check Motherboard prices from AMD and Intel, see which one gives you better soundcard version.
At least this is what I do at most cases when I'm building something budget and I'm not sure which version should I buy.

Literally, that's my pc that I build 3 month ago and u can get almost 1000 fps in the practice lobby(bots) and in game between 400-500 fps, so it's a good pc

i can say its good

AMD performs suprisingly good in valorant but when it comes to gpu dont worry. the difference between different 3060 gpus is tiny so just pick the cheapest gpu but I would suggest picking a 3060ti because you get more performance for the money you put in. upgrading you gpu to the nearest level will always be better than paying 200 dollar extra for a good brand lower tier gpu

Im totally satisfied with my Valorant fps:

500-700 on practice
400-600 on DM
300 (min) and 550 (max) fps on competitives

ATTENTION: no recorders such as Medal or Overwolf were used, it is probably -50fps or -80fps when recorder is on
