Just posted about this on Reddit but it's crazy how much Knights Arena is screwing them by having all the games spaced out this week and not running concurrently
Round differential being tiebreaker, you guys will have finished your game and TT, OXG, and SR will have a clear picture of the differential they'll need to qualify. This could easily change in game decisions on forces/strategy. Where you guys and faze just have to play out the game and hope the rounds line up in your favor
Not saying teams will throw rounds, but having knowledge that "if we get to this differential we will be safe" is unfair when two of the other teams fighting for the spots will have to do it blindly. This would be fixed with concurrent games since everyone would be on equal ground as the matches progress
I mean I agree with you it should be head to head 100%.
Just think allowing a situation like Moist lose to Faze and end up with a -11 round differential. Now the loser of TT and OXG have to stay higher than -11 and they are qualified (atleast until SR game) then SR will enter their game and know exactly how many rounds they need to up to qualify (another advantage they have over Faze/Moist + OXG/TT) is dumb. Especially when the only reason they are doing it is to have a broadcast for every game. There is a reason every football match starts at the same time every season on the last Matchweek
This doesn't really apply to the winning teams. Here is an example.
Moist lose to Faze and end up with a -11 round differential. Now the loser of TT and OXG have to stay higher than -11 and they are qualified (atleast until SR game) then SR will enter their game and know exactly how many rounds they need to up to qualify (another advantage they have over Faze/Moist + OXG/TT)
the only way i can see it becoming "broken" is if for example:
SR need a +10 map diff vs g2 to qualify
They win map 1 13-7 (+6)
Then map 2 goes to the score 11-11, they throw on purpose because a +2 (13-11) wouldnt be enough. (-2)
Then they win map 3 13-7 (+6) giving them enough to qualify.
oxg/tt dont really have an advantage because its still in their best interests to try and get a higher seed, throwing rounds doesnt make sense for them especially because sr could leapfrog em
EXACTLY! You have described one of the vast possibilities for other teams to game the system that MM and Faze do not have afforded to them. I don't think throwing rounds is the biggest deal I think knowing how many rounds specifically you need to get to and letting that dictate strategy is an unfair advantage
