Riot should just copy and paste overwatch's world cup format. Games like Brazil vs USA, Russia vs Korea etc would be awesome. Only do it every 2 or 4 years tho so it's a special event
The only problem is having federations for every national team, and i dont think every country will be invested into making it as mainstream as football. Some teams might be really serious with mix of lots of players, trials and training, others will just bring a madeup team with either a mix of unknowns or a team that is already playing either challengers/franchising. If it is really well organized im in. But if Riot does not get hands in i dont think its a good idea for the competitive aspect.
Riod had the idea of LoL world cup for many years but had yet to come true. The level of a nation's Valorant player is not necessary, as long as five players can be put together, the representive could be formed, regardless of how their state esports association supporting them. They can also hire foreign coaches.
in the overwatch world cup's format, there isn't really a proper organization or federation for the world cup. each team is organized and put together by a committee that is made up of notable community members and a general manager from that country that manages the team, social media, and picks the roster and coaches. so I think it will definitely be manageable for any country that has enough playerbase and fanbase to form a roster for the world cup
