CONCLUSION : In Game Leader

Star players like yay, ardiis, pAncada, Sacy and Marved come and go but great igl is what defines a team.
People really thought NRG and LOUD are gonna be nerfed from the roster changes but their performance remained intact. Star players are just bunch of clowns in their prime forms running around like headless chickens but great igls can create many star players from nothing.

How do you think ACEND won the champions with Bot kiles and Starxo? It was always BONECOLD, he was the best IGL at the time.

i think that's true usually, but it's not always true. star players can drop 30 per map but if they don't have a team then that doesn't happen.
IGLs are MUCH more impactful than star players, yes, but don't say the star players do absolutely nothing for the team

You are right but star players need their fellow initiator players to set them up for the right plays.
Just look at yay, he looked like the #1 player in the world because Victor and Crashies set him up perfectly.

does that not mean his teammates were the weak links in that map? aspas went 8-1 FK/FD. he did his job beautifully as the star player, his team just couldn't convert the 5v4s into round wins

Tbh at that point of time during sentinels era it was zombs. He was the first guy to start playing Astra he setup a bar for every controller in game.
TenZ also fragged absurdly well, he dropped insane and unbelievable aimduels and was single handedly overpowering his opponents.

Shahzam is a very good player but he cannot be counted as one of the goat igls because he wasn't even an igl when SEN won. He was playing Jett and moreover he was the primary awper. OG sentinels had no IGL they had a CALLER named Shahzam 🐐.
This is the reason why SEN went from top to bottom within a year because of lack of IGLing, IGLs didn't play a big role at the first Iceland masters because teams were still figuring out fundamentals. It was the duelist era and sentinels had Sick and TenZ along with the meta player Zombs himself and Shahzam was the best awper in that event. Dapr was doing darp things.

Not Bonecold, he's never been a true IGL, he transitioned because no one was available to do it and I don't think it has ever been his strength. Even last year he had to leave the IGL role to baddyG because it wasn't working. Now on Vitality he is the main IGL but Molsi and Destrian do a really high percentage of the calls just like they did on OGLU, Boo isn't a pure IGL either

Maybe BONECOLD just fell off? Because if you look at GMB vs ACE grandfinals then you would notice that no one was hard carrying in the ACEND squad unlike Nats on the other end. That means they won more structured rounds compared to GMB and lost a lot of aim duels.
That clearly is some IGL things.

Well yeah but I don’t think it’s fair to attribute all that to the IGL, coach and teamates could be the reason. We do not know what was going on internally, specially if they decided to bench him right after.

Also do know that starxo and Zeek are both insane mid round callers both doing so on their current teams too. Zeek actually might even be the new IGL
