Is an associates degree worth it?

My parents want to transfer me to another school, Its 45 minutes away and id need to commute their on my own, and Id basically uproot my social life since i dont know anyone going their. In turn they say it hyperfocuses in my field of interest (law and public safety) and would provide me with an associates degree and if i do AP courses, a good bit of college credit. I don't have a choice but im curious if you guys think its worth it. Im not sure but im sending in my application in a few days so sucks to suck i guess.

yes its worth it

its the same classes, you end up with the same degree at the end, and its 1/10th of the price of a 4 year university (usually free with scholarship or financial aid)

you take the prereq classes in the associate, then transfer to university at the 4 year school for 2 years and end up with the bachelors from the university anyway and save 10s of thousands of dollars

yaya, and whatever school you go to for the associates (im assuming its a community college) should have programs with Universities in the area that guarantee your credits will transfer

It depends on the degree. Depending on the career a lot of companies require a degree > than an associate's. However, you can always transfer to a university and get credit for a lot of the classes.

do dual enrollment over AP course unless you plan to go for a big name college. and are u in high school? cuz graduation with an associates is absolutely worth it if that’s what ur asking, puts u very much ahead in college progression and increases ur chance of getting into a state college/ university if u already have an AA
