Why don't they create slots for non franchised teams to participate in VCT tournaments?
Like x amount of extra slots or something. 1 slot for each region etc?
Wouldn't this be good for t2 valo?
Educate me

well that's what they did
there is an ascention year for those who didnt franchise and i think the top 2 of those teams get into the big leagues for 2 years. then it would be logic that after 2 years they need to win it all again
That would mean actually good rosters competing, henceforth increasing the level of competition which goes against Riots philosophy: make the scene as bot-friendly as possible.
But riot did create extra slots for promotion? The ascension league is literally announced with the entire franchise league themselves, T2 Val scene won't die that easily under riot hands
Yeah, 1 team per year gets promoted. Meanwhile there's like a billion other orgs that don't have the patience and are just going to drop their rosters.
Ye 1 team per region , not in an entire year, and in the future it will be bumped to 2 teams while every few years the 10 franchised team will change to weed out weaker/ milking team. A billion other orgs? If a game has that many orgs at tier 1 the game is doomed to failed cuz business wise riot must be spending near billions on just eSports.
if your esport cant support more than 30,33 orgs then it's no esport, it's a clown fiesta.
Val is supporting atleast 30 orgs though? 10 from each region and 42 at the end of it and that's just TIER 1. Tier 2 is offering even more teams and it's literally the same as this year except team play to enter the franchise league and not master.
Ascension Tourneys exist, adding +1 slot to each franchise league each year, maxing out at 14 as rach ascension winner is there for 2 years before being relegated back into Challengers
