Team play isn't strategy. Though I do believe that it's much more important than strategy. All the heavy stratting teams have fallen, M3C, FNC, EG, 100T, PRX, ZETA, LEV. Apart from PRX and FNC none of them have really achieved anything at all. Heavy strats just aren't a sustainable way of playing in pro play cause you always have to keep rebuilding from the ground up every tourney especially if you hit top 3.
The only team who were able to keep it up for a long time was Gambit/M3C but they eventually felt the huge burnout from it and they just fell off
Dude all the top 4 teams are all aim no brain. Closest one to brain is drx but watch their match and their strategies are actually very minimal (until combos are NOT strats), a lot of the reasons for their wins are their insane gunplay and chemistry with each other. Fpx were a more extreme example of that where they just keep taking a ton of fights and just keep winning.
The most strat heavy team this year we're FNC and you can see how poorly they did. It's not a sustainable way of playing the game especially because of how effective anti stratting is against that kind of style. FNC needed to be able to win without all their strats but their players just didn't have good enough games.
