This numbers are huuuuuge

Really surprised how well it's doing in Japan

This is one of the main differences between Valorant's competitive and other FPS

Congratz to Riot and Japan

csgo has also been absolutely dead (especially pro scene) in india, mostly because word.exe ruined a lot of opportunity

This is why I say on other threads. That Japan has their 2 slots for a reason. They have a very dedicated community that is actually quite large.

That makes no sense, if Japan deserves 2 slots because of the views then TR should have 8 slots

It's only like 2 or 3 times or so. And Japan has a much smaller amount of gamers specifically PC gamers. But they still have like this large of a playerbase. I think that's why riot wants to support it. I honestly don't know why Turkey doesn't have it's own slots. But yea riot see that Japan really like their game for some really random reason. Which is an fps which makes it really odd. I think that's the reason why but we can only speculate. Hopefully they give Turkey their own spots though.

I think they will eventually merge the entire APAC region just like EMEA

But they are one of the worst regions

I mean Riot forced a lot trying to be relevant in Korea and they failed, susprisingly they were successfull in Japan, I think they just should focus on that market and if Korea doesn't grow, let it fall.

I don't think they'll give up on Korea because Korea could be a massive, massive prospect, but I don't see why they couldn't work on both Korea and Japanese viewership

Too early to say if it failed in Korea. Definitely behind other regions but it’s not like it going backwards it pulls solid viewership even in the English stream, and NUTURNs result at Iceland in theory should help it. Riot has a lot of money, if it fails in Korea it fails, but I don’t think Riot will sit back and do nothing. I think the growth in the Asian regions including India will actually help Korea simply by proxy as well. As longs as orgs like Damwon, VS, and NUTURN remain the seen can grow. But I do agree it needs some help compared to a lot of other regions.

Either way, will be interesting to see 2 years from now which regions have been able to remain, which have died. I hope regions like India can continue to grow.

I agree but the thing is they are too hell bent on focusing on a few regions, east asia get too much attention compared to India or sea, the servers here are dogshit , go down every couple of days and their ban system is so bad it triggers a ban thinking the person left the game. India and sea easily get 20-30k viewership but still they rely on local third parties to host official games. At least sea has a confirm spot in world championships (south asia cannot participate in masters in any way). India and south asia have to compete in APAC LCQ (last chance qualifiers) and maybe they will get a chance even though we are as big as brazil in size.

I'm relatively sure it's because Riot was late on implementing India into vct because they're actually trying to do stuff to try to help it. But I don't think they could've started a circuit point system in India in the middle without fucking stuff up. I guess it's unfortunate really but I think they should are just gonna try to make some smaller tournaments for India atm and then try to bring them into the vct tour next year as a region. We can see this kinda happening in other regions so I think this is what's happening.

It's just what I think is happening. I could be completely wrong.

I probably because Riot never expected the game to be so huge in India considering the history of esports in India. They were simply not prepared, hopefully they start developing the region in the coming years.

Japan, Turkey and India.

All of these regions have a place in Valorant when compared to cs.
That the biggest difference between the two titles, Valorant is way more of a global esport.
