zeta run in first stage
we need to answer this once and for all.
Not fluke.
“FNC with full roster would’ve beaten ZETA,” no shit. But the most annoying thing is that people still thought that FNC with 2 SUBS would’ve beaten ZETA, but they didn’t.
Then ZETA turned up and antistratted everyone. It shows that ZETA themselves were serious about it —to reach third place, and it inspired Japan to be better than ZETA. That’s why NTH is here today instead of ZETA.
It’s the first game and people are back on the “Japan is shit” train. There’s still many games, and NTH has to yet do a lower bracket run.
Also, we must stop the narrative that “underdog/unexpected team making a deep run = fluke run.” It’s actually ridiculous. That team was better on that day, that’s all there is to it.
i dont understand what is so hard to understand playing well doesnt mean doesnt mean its not a fluke, ofcourse the team who wins played better thats how it is in almost all competitive sports,if they are that good they need to prove they can stay on that level, then we can say they are really a top team and not a decent team who just happened to have a great tournament
I'm just saying at the time they were definitely better than all those teams. Also Valorant is a game when the meta shifts like every week so it's harder to stay on top. Besides Sentinels for like the first bit no team has ever really stayed on top. If you think Zeta is a fluke you also prob think Acend is a fluke. It's not a fluke just meta shifts so much that it doesn't always benefit you.
i 100% think acend champs win was a fluke, they were a good team with a lot of but not the best in the world gambit was more consistent the whole year, again adapting is also one part of being good,if you cant adapt can you really call your team a top team, with 3 events you cant really call anyone fluke because its only 3 and teams all teams are pretty inconsistent but theres still a clear difference between teams who have just had good runs and actual top teams
