Group of death 2x and when they won it the first time they had to play gambit first. Quite unfortunate TBH.
Koreans teams are not overrated IMO simple because they are good at fps (not in EU LEVEL) but they really smart and they have good aim they just need more time to imprive and comepete with the stronger regions.
They showed up more than brazilians teams and don't get me wrong i think eventually a good brazilian team will show up but right know KR is above.
I think that Valorant will be way different than Lol where basically two regions dominate everything i true believe that one day brazil will win master or champions, same for latam and kr..etc, because the game is in the very beginning and peoplee tend to study much more the stronger teams than the underdogs i really doubt SEN studied Furia or Acend Studied Vivo Keyd vods while VK studied much more Acend for instance. I doubt Vikings studied Team secret but they studied a lot Gambit etc etc and in this context people can get surprised.
Like C9 Leaf said, their playstyle is too predictable, it becomes too easy to counter. Teams exploited this which resulted in them not being to adapt as quickly as they needed to. I mean, Fnatic Boaster is the biggest brain in the game, they knew damn near every move VS was gonna make.
Also, them relying on utility combos so much hurt them in the long run. So they weren't unlucky... They just couldn't "clear sites, defend retakes" their way to a championship title.
Add bad map picks, bad map bans in the mix, and there you go...
Maybe if they played Lakia, than it would make some difference...
