Format is bad (online qualifiers + BO1), schedule is horrible, meta was rolled back, not part of the champions bracket (no points or prestige), production horrible, teams playing on the same day, and more

Money and level of teams is the only thing ewc has going for it

even if u believe this... winning a masters like t1 did has nearly locked them in for champs. they would need to be really really dogshit to not make champs

winning ewc does nothing to help u qualify for other events (making events=money)

I kinda liked the BO1's but I wish they weren't as punishing for losing them.

The way CS Majors work with a swiss stage where the 0:0, 1:0, and 0:1 games are Bo1 (I think), works best IMO.

I don't really care to watch a Bo3 of a title contender v.s. a #4 minor region team.

1:1 games are Bo1 as well, its only elimination/advancement games that are Bo3

That’s EXACTLY what I’m talking about, you don’t care about valorant if you only watch a game for prestige and points, (disagree with online qualifiers, and BO1s should have been in a Swiss format like in CS, I agree with the production, meta might have been issues with riot according, and a few more) but genuinely if fans of Valorant esports and players themselves don’t take this seriously we will be stuck with SOOP, and SEN invitational unfortunately and it will slowly die out.

....we have RBHG, SOOP Valorant League, and Project Blender already announced so far. And it's not called the OFF//SEASON anymore, it's now the Partner Series.

There's a reason why many offseason tournaments are always held in Asia/China, majority always grateful + kpopification
SEN are the only one that cares in NA, small 4 teams tournament does happen in south america
EMEA only red bull care enough to make offseason turney, cause Saudi's MENA EWC got treated..... u know.

Are you braindead? Why would TOs not want to run events. this tourney is basically a big social party for the teams and a cash grab, offseason tourneys means something when teams go into new meta and maps. what was the new thing about this dogshit tourney?

Simply return on investment, BIG TOs such as BLAST can already run big OFF Season, reason they aren’t doing so far is genuinely cause of the viewership, receptions and strict RIOT rules (they are softening up on sponsors but might still have conflicts), if a 500k tourney grand finals can barely crack 50k viewers and have a lot of people boycotting and criticising, why would they want to invest into it ?

the reason its being boycotted is because its a week after a huge masters event, its also part of the name "EWC" and also its sort off misses every checkmark which an off season event fills, the qualifiers werent even streamed properly and the hype made for it was also next to 0, in general the only good part of the tourney was the top 4 playoff games, because before that it was a snoozer tourney
