I've been thinking about this recently, especially seeing all the posts made about GOATS and the best players. I do not believe VAL will ever have a clear GOAT.
CS has Simple, maybe Zywoo if you want to argue.
League has Faker
COD has Scump or Crim
But I don't think its possible to have a GOAT in Val. The game itself changes way too much for there to be a singular GOAT.
In other games, while new content may be added, the meta doesn't really change. It's pretty cut and dry.
For example, CS rarely makes any weapon balances and rarely adds maps. The pros compete in pure gunplay skill.
In League, while new champs do get added, individual skill doesn't translate as well. It heavily leans to team cohesion and taking good team fights. Yes that is easier if you have individual skill etc.
I just don't think there will ever a long-term goat in Valorant. You can say Tenz for 2021. You can say Yay for 2022. You can say Demon1 for 2023. Or just say Aspas for everything. But these are all periods. Different metas, different games. The GOAT in Valorant has to be periodic. All it takes is one agent nerf to lose your "GOAT status." The closest so far I believe is Aspas. He has been the most consistent across all metas and agents.
