ok, but then how do you get the viewership number? if champs had 70 mil index with chinese team actually winning and cs major had 52 mil without any sorta chinese representation wouldn't it still suggest that CS viewership was in the millions? It is of course, if we trust riot and their claim of 36 million viewers in China during champs 2024? did some rough maths, which might be completely wrong, but if I take the percentage of both index numbers and the viewership, CS major got around 26 million (52:70 multiplied by 36 million). IT was at least 4 million with the likes tho, so you say it wasn't multiple millions is nonsense

lmao this entire "chinese wiewership" argument is literally speculation,valve or the TOs dont have direct access to a tech giant in china who can get the numbers for them so it must be that they didnt release them because the game isnt popular (even tho we can see it is) by seeing the "popularity" numbers,and the chinese wiewerships that exceed cs are 100% because a chinese team is playing or made it far,i can actually see rn on bilibili tyloo who upset some good eu teams in esl pro league (not even S tier tournament) get a lot of hype and videos with like 100-250k wiews in a day so there is clearly a lot of interest for cs in china (for comparison the match video of bangkok finals has about 315k on bilibili rn so i really doubt what this guy is saying
