Ending Scheduling Discussion (LEO FARIA COME)

YAP SESSION INCOMING:
Hello,
It's insane that RIOT is unable to schedule events in a way where for all fans can enjoy. The time from Reykjavik to the first Eastern tournament was roughly 2 years, and the time from the last event we had in Americas to the next one will be 1 year and 9 months. This is ridiculous for people from all regions to not be able to view events in their own timezone for nearly 2 years at a time considering Valorant promotes diversity among all people across the world. There is most definitely a fix for this, and while organizing tournaments and finding host cities is difficult, a company as large as RIOT should be able to do so. I have found an extremely easy solution to this problem: Rotational Regional Tiers. Think of this like a three-sided wheel. Once you reach the top, you get put back on the bottom.

This would ensure every region gets one scheduled events per year, but also that each region gets a champs every 3 years meaning no region is left a long time without the most prestigious tournament. Also in my chart, I rotate NA/SA, China/Pacific and Eastern/Western EU to continue to improve diversity between these tournaments.
I completely understand that there is an extremely low chance a RIOT employee or Leo Faria actually reads this, but this system seems like one that should've been implemented a long time ago. Thank you for reading.

TL;DR rotate regions one slot per year (2025 asia masters 1, 2026 asia masters 2, 2027 asia champs) and repeat for every region for parity between regions.

Isn’t that already the case Americas 2023 champs Asia 2024 EU 2025 last year we had two Asian tournaments probably because china and pacific are separated

2021: EMEA, EMEA, EMEA
2022: EMEA, EMEA, EMEA
2023: Americas, Pacific, Americas
2024: EMEA, China(Pacific Timezone), Pacific
2025: Pacific, Americas, EMEA
Yes, the Champs rotation is different from 2023-2025 but they are not sticking to 1 region per tournament besides 2025. I am worried this might not stick throughout 2026 onwards, but maybe that is already their plan.

The issue for NA fans isnt the fact asian tournaments exist, its the fact that the last 3 have all been asian tournaments consecutively, meaning that some NA fans unironically haven't seen a live international event since Madrid and wont until Toronto

Yeah, that's the point of what I'm proposing. Every region (general timezone) should have their own tournament every year. I am combining China+Pacific only because generally their timezones align enough where if there is a China tournament Pacific can easily watch and vice versa.

I updated it with a second page if Chinese tournaments are enforced on a schedule as other regions would be. Just staggers things more than I think necessary since Pacific+China timezones are close enough to justify having them combined in my opinion

Feel like this is the best for all parties. It sucks not having been able to watch the highest quality Valorant easily since Madrid. I am glad APAC got their time to shine but it feels like its been such a drought for Americas specifically. Glad we got Toronto finally so I can watch some high quality Valorant at a good time. Leo did make a comment about this I believe during champs last year and said if they wanted it for timezones they'd just do EMEA all year and it makes sense lol

I think Leo is viewing it from a weird perspective. Yes, EMEA does technically make it "viewable" for all 3 regions (not a time where anyone is staying up too late/waking up too early) but that is still a large inconvenience to everyone who isn't a NEET. I don't want to wake up at 2am and be extremely exhausted for work nor miss a match at 10am because I am working at the time.

Wasn’t the 2021-2022 scheduling mainly because of visa concerns and covid. They did Berlin and Reykjavik twice because of that not necessarily based on viewership but because logistically it was easier.

Yeah, I was just making a region list and forgot that 2021-2022 was EMEA only for organizational reasons and kept it in. Might seem a little misleading, you are right that it wasn't another reason.
