If there were agent bans in valorant, how would you structure it. Like how many agents per team can be banned, if you can ban multiple agents of the same role and finally how many more agents to be released at minimum till we have a working agent ban system.

Not really familiar with bans in most games outside of Maps(Faceit), I'd probably just do 2 bans, not multiple from the same role.

Man at some point you are gonna have to do something different
This is extremely repetitive and I think people at Riot are thinking of it too
Could be the reason they are releasing another agent at Bangkok

I think the roster of agents needs to be expanded a lot more for bans, and I'd only do it in prem/officials. I'd just do a dual ban, but both have to be different roles. If there is a tie, goes to a quick 10s tiebreaker and in the event of another tie it chooses random out of the options.

still not enough agents for this to function properly. maybe in a few years this will make sense, but for now it will only ruin the game. it should be around 40 agents for this to happen. if we talk about how bans will work, i'd say it should be 2 bans from each team, like in siege

Can be something simple like what Marvel Rivals does.

1 agent ban per team (blind ban so both teams could theoretically ban the same character)

Blind pick from there. Although the quality of play may lower from this it would spark new comps on maps like ascent and rewards teams that adapt.

They did this for League of Legends, surely they will allow competitive tournaments to have this feature (if and whenever they reach an absurd amount of agents)

It makes it more fun tbh, because then you won't have the same team comps over and over, making spectating boring. If they want Valorant to be around for years to come, they need to think about how to draw viewership IMO.

I think they don't even have to do the full 10 agent bans
2-3 agent bans per team would make it so fun

league of legends has 170+ fucking characters to play. at that point, you are dumb if you AREN'T allowing bans at that point. valorant barely has 25 agents rn. its too soon.

at least 50 agents in before we need bans

This definitely. Right now it's too soon but the pace they are releasing agents, it should take two years at max
However I wonder if the league would still be around by then

agree. especially because by that stage, there will be more than just one or 2 agents in a role that are in meta, and it can be used to influence what kind of agents you want to go up against. rn teams would just spam the same agent bans (jett, viper on lotus/icebox/breeze, brim on bind, etc etc) and it wouldnt be fun at all.

definitely, that's why i said, "if and when they reach an absurd amount of agents". But IMO, bans forces teams to be more creative and not just have everyone copy each others comps and ideas.

Not enough agents in the game to implement agent bans
