why does SEN have an academy team in Challengers but not any other VCT team?
Because it costs money to have a second team that won’t ever ascend to tier 1 (all academy teams can’t ascend as part of riots agreement) and you might be developing players that could become your future competition.
wait, so if they win Challengers, then they still don't ascend? aren't they taking away a spot from another Challengers team that can ascend?
yes, but if thats the case, they would sell the team to a different org, while having priority of poaching players that they would like.
