EST would make global viewership higher fs
it aligns with South America and makes watching from Europe easier, the west coast can still watch pretty easily

Canada also has less bureaucracy with visas (they still have some, but in my personal experience it's less than the US)

Brazil is a country of continental proportions, and there are places here much safer than many parts of the US. The homicide rate in São Paulo, where the VCT Americas would be relocated if it were held in Brazil, is literally lower than the homicide rate in LA.

its not really riots fault. LA is literally where Riot's HQ is so it makes the most sense to try to host an event that is close to where their headquartered. Visa problems happen all the time and its up to the orgs to try to get them resolved as soon as possible. its genuinely unfortunate and unlucky though
