So unfortunately we don’t cover the houses that burn down, we only cover those who go up in flames
i watched a tiktok about the terrifying state of LA home insurance. after fires in the past, more and more insurance companies have left, and the state of california does not have enough budget to cover the home insurance provided by the state itself. its like 400 million and the damages of the LA fires are almost 40 BILLION. thats insane and scary, less than 1 percent. the aftermath of these LA fires are going to be so terrible for everyone affected.
IonlywatchvcjXD [#5]iirc, insurances typically don't cover natural disasters, that's just industry standard,.
That’s not true. Natural disaster insurance is common, and in california most of those houses specifically had fire insurance

But yeah it’s a big scandal that insurance companies tried to pull their coverage in california
California’s government passed a temporary ban on insurance companies pulling their coverage though to save the homeowners
Bad day to be statefarm lol
