Do people overestimate how much a coach could do?

I keep hearing that Potter will turn anyone into star players. But how much of it is coaching and how much is it the player himself

Their role is similar to that of coaches in other sports, or even politicians. They help players reach their full potential. A very good coach will have their team at 100% almost all the time. Perhaps the greatest coach of all time can get them to 105%. That's it. But there's no limit to the negative impact a bad coach can have.

most a coach can do is just fix player's mistakes, they can't get gold out of horseshit
All the players in 2023 EG were already good before joining

It's 90% the player. The coach is just orchestrating things. The player is the one who has to do everything. Coaching in the pro level doesn't really improve players mechanically. It might improve the game iq of younger players. For the seasoned players, the coach is really just telling the player how they want them to play a role etc. If anything the IGL has way more impact than a coach.

You can have a shit coach, but if your players are good enough the coach will be praised. If you have a "good coach" (whatever that means) your shit players are still gonna lose 13-2

Nature mid t2 player-> mid t1 player
Derrek washed t1 player->good t1 player
Supamen t2 player->t1 player

Also we can see the difference when they go to different teams
100T used her system which is why they succeed so much
Demon1/Ethan/C0M looked trash because they were out of her system

? jawg is the best duelist in Americas rn besides like zekken, he actually plays the top 3 duelist agents (raze, jett , neon) perfectly and it has shown through the whole season

only problem was the rest of the players on EG were really inconsistent which is why EG itself didnt do shit

? jawg is the best duelist in Americas rn besides like zekken, he actually plays the top 3 duelist agents (raze, jett , neon) perfectly and it has shown through the whole season

only problem was the rest of the players on EG were really inconsistent which is why EG itself didnt do shit

there is no way youre being serious. jawg was just as inconsistent as the rest of the players on EG. you have to either be riding him from 23 and you just didnt watch a eg games this year or youre trolling

a good coach can make a roster work, or fix small individual problems but for the talent themselves it depends on the player
