i dont understand the lakia hate

this guy isnt the star of the show and he isnt always get the most frags. but you guys make it out to be hes a bad player. he is on the higher end of recons and his role is playing recon. hes not gonna frag out while shooting perfect utility for his team. hate it or love it lakia is not going anywhere and is going to stick arouind in tier 1 for a while.

it is always something with initiator players for vlr users, the c0m hate the sacy hate the lakia hate. but everything is okay for verno because hes verno right?

I guess the hate exists because initiators like RieNs, Leo, Trexx, Verno exist
And I do get your point and agree, perhaps Lakia helps the team in ways beyond the game as well with other preparations and mental but the point just has been that there are other initiators that shoot back too.
And if the emphasis is on utility then Leo was the best player of 2023 with near perfect utility and RieNs (for me) was the best player of 2024 with again, near perfect utility while shooting back.

Lakia does lack that firepower on a consistent basis but there are games when he doesn't miss

Lakia atp is def gonna be tier 1 level for the next few years. The only reason people hate on lakia (at least I think) is that he just isnt a super star player on a superstar team. even if geng win the next 5 tournaments, its still hard to say lakia is the best intiator where as the rest of geng you can easily say the players are the best in their role.

Lakia however as you mention is extremely helpful to GenG in other ways and has a proven core with geng. so I doubt he will go anywhere away from geng any time soon

There's a ridiculous amount of cracked Korean players. Lakia is a very good player, but he's not the best on the market and players like Zest, Beyn or UdoTan for example would bring more fragging value to the team (even if its a10%-20% upgrade). Mechanically he's the worst player on an excellent team. That's just how it is. It's very easy for people to 'hate' the worst player of a good team.

I don't even think GENG should drop him, I think they should run it back and see what happens but if Lakia underperforms again then we'll be having the same discussions again.
