i really hate to word it this way but absolutely not
imagining the optic core playing together today is like seeing inter miami sign all of the ex-Barcelona players
not necessarily saying any one player is washed, but the meta has changed so much that i genuinely think the 2022 optic core wouldn't qualify for 2024/25 champs as it stands

if you're asking if optic, all in current form in one team would be good right now, the answer is that maybe they top 3 finish at an international event if everything goes really well (taking this from the fact that last years nrg finished 4th and could have been 3rd if no cove)
If youre asking if PRIME optic was in the scene right now would they be good, I think the answer is yeah. Tbh prime optic in current meta would look a lot like eg of 2023, as you have your anchor awper/jett player (yay/demon1), your raze player when no jett maps who can flex onto other roles (victor/jawg), your igl sentinel (boostio/fns), your hard scan initiator player (c0m/crashies/ethan), and your smokes (marved/jawg). With roles they probably make it would, albeit the smokes role operates somewhat differently per maps, but the base is there. I mean prime yay was probably top 3 player of all time, and prime marved hard carried prime yay so
But in current form best case scenario everything goes perfectly i see them finishing 3rd maximum if marved gets back into his groove
Worst case probably 7-9th americas ahead of the brazilian failures of mibr and furia

they'd be like C9 level but maybe less choke so idk
The meta would kill them firstly, the style of play doesnt suit them at all
yay could try and force chamber and it might work until you hit those top 2 teams in each league then they need a full team comp change a completely different style of play. Also he hasnt played consistently in pretty much 2 years at the top level, no way to guarantee he goes anywhere near the peak he was once
Victor looked off, Crashies looked off
Marved isnt at the same level he was and is a much more passive and role based player now
fns is playing a dying form of IGL, you need an IGL that can frag and the only way around that is to have 4 world class aimers which the team would not have

Ur right yay isn’t getting back to prime yay but he looks like he’s building some sort of confidence to a subpar level
every member of the old optic roster is in a slump that i don’t see them getting out of unless their current professional careers take a turn for the better
yay looks to be on the come-up, but everyone else either doesn’t have a team or is going to a rough patch in their career
in short, probably not. maybe top 6
