from getting grouped back in Champs 2022 to being grand finalist (and potentially winners) in Champs 2024
one of the best underdog storyline in my opinion
Aayan [#2]I wonder who had the better underdog story, EG or EDG what do you think?
EG i feel like more people doubted them, EDG has been to international events consistently for two years

heading into champs, EDG had lower expectations after shitting the bed in Madrid and Shanghai. For the actual overall underdog story, obviously EG i mean at some point people were calling them the worst team in franchising lol. EDG has also been hyped for a very long time now.

eg was more impressive literally came out of no where. EDG actually build on what they had and i'm happy they're succeeding.
aggressivelyholdingangles [#5]The storyline is kangkang with his immense aura and emperor chichoo with his massive dong
kk already has 35 first duels in 3 maps 🤯.
Aayan [#2]I wonder who had the better underdog story, EG or EDG what do you think?
EDG had the foundation as veteran team, best of their region easily. EG being champ was like Mibr winning champs lmao

EG made masters finals before that???????

a lot of people had edg getting grouped at champs so I guess it depends on where you start
Aayan [#2]I wonder who had the better underdog story, EG or EDG what do you think?
personally I prefer this EDG story because I've been watching these guys since they had a perfect run in East Asia LCQ
I feel like EG and GenG's runs were so quick that it didnt allow me to be emotionally invested at the team

true but to call them underdogs and bringing up a tournament from 2 years ago kinda doesn't seem valid. we considering teams underdogs when they've been to every lan for over a year? thats like calling drx underdogs if they were in finals right now

i mean a lot of people think china is weak and that its easy to qualify from china

I think it's not entirely a fair comparison, EDG were invited to all the events before this year, and people were constantly shitting on them for 'wasting' a slot.
But yeah as the other guy said EG winning champs was like mibr winning champs, so they probably take the cake

yeah but edg has made playoffs and beaten good teams in the past so i never doubted them like that

and drx would be underdogs if they were in the finals they missed both international events this year
zhuzhuzhu [#18]and drx would be underdogs if they were in the finals they missed both international events this year
i dont think so we kinda just giving underdog out to everyone, drx would just be a good team that found their form again. by your logic we could consider so many teams underdogs this year because the teams have been very diverse.
