the life expectancy was always at or below 50 before the 1900's, and it gets way worse the further you go back. also serfdom, slavery, and other shit existed so the odds of you either getting fucked over or straight up getting murdered aren't pretty even if you're born into privilege and wealth. not fun

For one if you want to live in roman empire you are choosing the wrong timeline, because Roman empire is already gone replaced by Byzantine Empire , for that you should go back even further .
