Okay so according to the video they say they are lengthing the season and keeping the almost rest of the things same I like the new kickoff format and more off season events Thing but they very smartly didn't mention anything about matches meaning that the total matches each team plays in regional league will still be the fucking same , this shit is bad they are only giving each team total of 10 matches to play in normal without the playoffs and kickoff and if we stretch that out across stage 2 and 1 means , I don't like this at all considering that other eSports like cs or even lol offers two stages of regional tourney but way more matches in lol a single team plays total of 40 matches across both the regional tourney

actually it will be one more match because of 12 teams 🤓 . But yeah the format being the same sucks

Yeah idk why they are so hesitant to change it, it's not just viewers complains but also pro's complaint about increasing it.

TLDR ;
Kickoff new format nice, academy team in challengers nice, off season events nice, champs rotation nice, less off season nice, but not mentioned increase in regional matches bad move again, new capsules maybe nice or maybe not

How is the increase of regional games bad?

Noo I mean they didn't increase the regional games which is bad , that thing of not increasing the regional games is bad

Oh okay. But they did slightly increase them tho right? I think they said each split will have 8 regular season games instead of 6?

It’s probably still not enough, should probably play the full split against the 11 teams but Ig it’s better than nothing. I’m mostly glad because your season can’t be over after 1 split now which is a significant improvement and because they did add a ton of games to tier 2

They said during the press conference there will be an increase of 12.5% regional matches for the teams. Basically if you are a bad team its the same but if you are good and make playoffs you will play a couple more matches with the new playoff format and 8 teams will be in playoffs instead of 6.

U know that's basically close to nothing , a team like genG who made two deep runs to finals played a total of 39 matches this entire year if u consider they made it deep here as well then they might have played like 44-45 matches in total and in league u play 40 matches every team through regionals itself

  1. Maybe it has something to do with the age of the game in general, A "newly 4 year release game of VALORANT" compare to other game that has been around for ages will have extremely poor comparison especially VCT CN only just out this year.

  2. Logistics + VISA. We've seen the LOUD last minute return to americas with barely any prep. GE indian players needing 6 months to get VISA to Korea, Xccurate & Jemkin needed 3 months of VISA to go korea. 2023 season Indian players had to wait till APRIL to finally compete. People from certain nationality are GUARANTEE to get repetitive yearly issue of MISSING matches if schedule heavily packed.

  3. Work days matches. Reason why we get this 4 days break, is not just because of new venue relocation. Matches on friday/weekends are guarantee to get more crowd attendance. 40 games season will bound to have more weekdays matches.

additional note: I don't really follow league or CS, can't give comparison but my main argument for those 2 are those game are well more established and valorant is still "new".

There are countries like Romania, where getting a visa is relatively easy.

CS has so many events because it has multiple TOs with a semi-open circuit ( next year to be open). If cs had only one TO, then CS would have +- the same number of events. Thing is, CS goes into a complete opposite way to Riot, instead of locking the circuit, it opens it completely and now new cs calendar for 2025 looks like this
January 13-26 - BLAST tournament
January 29-February 9 - ESL tournament
February 10-23 - PGL tournament
February 25-March 16 - ESL tournament
March 17-30 - BLAST tournament
March 31-April 13 - PGL tournament
April 15-20 - YaLLa Compass tournament
April 21-27 - ESL tournament
April 28-May 4 - BLAST tournament
May 5-18 - PGL tournament
May 19-25 - ESL tournament
May 26-June 1 - StarLadder tournament
June 9-22 - First Major
July 23-August 3 - ESL tournament
August 4-17 - BLAST tournament
August 20-24 - ESL tournament
August 25-September 7 - BLAST tournament
September 12-21 - StarLadder tournament
September 23-October 12 - ESL tournament
September 29-October 12 - PGL tournament
[Unknown date] - YaLLa Compass tournament
October 18-November 2 - PGL tournament
