what do you guys normally do for your routine in DM, sheriff only?; guardian only? I usually do ghost til 10 kills then sheriff the rest of the DM.

No dm just queue comp right away, in dms you focus only on aim and eventually perform well but then in comp shit's different so. More competitive exposure = better performance. I always found dming useless/people camp with odin which makes me tilted for no reason

if i have the time/not playing ranked but want to practice:

  • 1 dm hardcore miyagi method (not even shooting, just tracking)
  • 1 dm sheriff only
  • 1 dm guardian only
  • 1 dm vandal only

any combination of these. i also like playing without sound so i could practice clearing corners and reacting quickly (though DM has half the lobby shift walking and hard camping corners anyway so it doesn't even matter)

that being said once i started working i don't even have time to warm up i just go in

My warmup routine is log in to my smurf ,queue ranked , pick clove, bait my team, and shoot heads, keep playing till i feel like thanos, then grind ranked on my main

Miyagi method doesn't work lmao. I've said it to everyone I've seen trying it. Right after Sena or whatever that stupid ass youtuber's name was, made that one video that blew up, there were a lot of people trying that shit. Fortunately, people stopped doing that and I rarely see anyone trying it out now. The name is dumb and the routine is even worse.

Corny ass name icl. Though i presume the method was to make people stop shooting instantly and instead take time to aim and fire ig?

You can learn to be patient without wasting all that time. Besides, you have to be in some serious bot ass lobbies to not be instantly shot in DMs. The main focus of DM is crosshair placement. You play in ranked maps and constantly move while switching crosshair placements. The more you play, the better you get. You hear the spawn sound/footstep/gunshot, you ready your crosshair placement, peek, get a kill. And if you want to warm up raw aim, just queue TDM.

fair enough, i hate dming anyways anything other than queueing comp is a time waste

i completely agree it's not a good method, hence why it's not the only thing i do when/if i warm up. usually if i warm up i actually start with sheriff only. the thing that method is good for (imo) is the tracking practice you get. it helps me a lot in terms of getting the hang of my sens since i play different fps games with different sens's between them (primarily overwatch, fortnite etc) since they require a different sens for you to play well (vs playing like cs2)

i think with my particular playstyle (smokes+some lurking, think omen, astra, viper) it also helps with trigger discipline since you're not shooting as soon as you see the enemy

Usually I'll go Vandal/Phantom and just try to win as many fights with good gunfight hygiene as possible

There is nothing wrong with shooting as soon as you see the enemy. In fact it helps more than it harms. Most of the time you want to be shooting as soon as you see, the role doesn't matter. What matters is whether you're aiming correctly or not. Get a sens you're comfortable with, get a grip you're comfortable with, queue TDM and DM like crazy, that will fix like 95% of your problems. It will get you used to actually hitting the heads + target switching both of which are more important that trigger discipline.

Also, muscle memory is a myth. You get used to the sens you're playing in like 2 minutes. You can play OW at a crazy high sens, queue up ranked on Valo and immediately get used to Valo's sens. Trust me man, all these "methods" created by youtubers are all scam. There are people with horrible aim in Asc lobbies. Your aim isn't the problem most of the time.
