what happened between shanghai and champs? cn looks so much in form it's fucking insane
Ullyr [#2]Probably a lot of good scrims and vods. They got to actually learn strats. Probably a lot of team got shit on and they realized how far behind they are so work harder. I feel like EDG got so much hate so they really practiced disicpline.
getting thrashed by TH and PRX was a much needed wake-up call for them, they look like a completely different team

This EDG looks way different from Shanghai and Madrid.

I mean i knew edg would get better with the roster changed they made. After removed as coach. He was making them change agents and comp so much. Nobody as igl and haodong to coach position seem like it worked out. The problem was that at shanghai they're still pretty new roster change.
EDG's Coach AfteR wanted them to adopt a fnatic-like playstyle which didn't really suit what they're used to nor did it play to their strengths, they played uncomfortably slow and all it took was to go back to a mix of what their used to and a level of discipline that they had learnt to find their identity. EDG has always had this in them

EDG has been looking for changes since the start of this year and finally some improvements have shown up

yeah i think what happened was that after tokyo where EDG pop off. They got super criticized for how they play and they went fully 180 to try to adopt a super discipline Fnatic playstyle and it was uncomfortable for them. I feel like this style is better.
VacuousViper [#10]dude i watch china and i have no fucking clue, fpx looked out of form, edg looked out of form, they came back on form a little in the playoffs and suddenly they shredded, te were also nothing special and won 7 rounds against edg
EDG looked out for form before they brought S1mon in and changed IGL to nobody
literally all of the teams in the region leveled up from having international scrim experience & making roster changes that made the teams look more alive. you could see it in teams like All Gamers and Wolves who had very specific problems but overall became fundamentally solid by the end of the regular season. Trace always had it in them, FPX are the closest thing the region is to a superteam atm, EDG simply had coaching issues, and BLG are implementing new structure that's made them look so much better since split 2
