Valyn IGL of the year ?

so valyn got selected for Americas IGL of the year (check yourself on twitter of val sport na), but jhonqt clearly got robbed ? both have 1 international appearance, one got a trophy the other a 3rd place finish, jhonqt defeated gen.g, valyn did not, maybe because of the stage 1 and stage 2 placement ? I'm gonna need some help

johnqt won more trophies this year but valyn's been a better igl this year overall

I feel like this decision is so close because I can see both sides of the argument and agree with both. The only problem I have with giving it to JohnQT over valyn is the fact that after Masters Madrid we saw valyn (and consequently G2) step up in a big way leading to them being the 3rd place team from NA headed to Shanghai. Not only going but placing 3rd in the international tournament over the NA winner's 100T.

At that point I would have still said JohnQT was IGL of the year considering they are both in their 1st year as tier 1 IGL's and JohnQT immediately helped his team to win a national and international title. But as we look at today's team rankings and how both Sentinels and G2 have played I'd take valyn over JohnQT.

Sen has slowed down as a team who was running through their opposition and looked like they could be the best NA while G2 has made the steady climb to being better and better with each series. Now yes they lost in the finals 3-1 but the fact that they were able to consistently place 2nd-3rd in 2 national tournaments and 3rd at an international while Sen has been more volatile is the reason I take valyn over John right now.

John and valyn are great IGL's.
Valyn won it because they made their journey from T2 and tbh they are the only accession team that's been good the whole year.
They were consistent the whole year excluding kickoff.
John won an international event but he wasn't the same after Madrid.
If they are considering the whole year then Valyn was more consistent than John.

Valyn is more consistent. Johnqt just did good at the start when most teams didn't have a good grasp on the meta yet

I think they're neck and neck to be honest. Both are T2 talents that came in and lit up the league.

They both had different goals. Valyn came into T1 with a full team that he's had experience with but they hadn't played in T1 in a while. I think he really paved the way of success for future Ascension teams and showed them that its possible.

JohnQT is also a career T2 player that had the difficult goal of helping restructuring the most popular team in Valorant. While it's been a rough few months, his impact cannot be understated. He took a content team that struggled for two years and won them an international and gave them competitiveness.

I would only say JohnQT is better just due to the fact that he won a chip this year. In terms of calling and leading, they're the same.

I could see why but ehh.... I understand they placed Top 3 @ shanghai, but John Won a Event bruh and they legit had a crazy ass split because of his calling....

I think its very close but the one that won a event should def get the edge, ID only say that for IGL tho, I agree with Valyn being Smokes, eeiu being recon, and eeiu and leaf
