How can VS beat ACE

Why do so many people think VS can beat acend? Or even take a map?
vs struggled against PRX who people thought was the worst team at the event

I'm not even trying to hate on korea, i am a fan of the team and loved Nuturns run at iceland. I also hate when people say korea is "overrated" because they earned respect with Nuturns run.
But ACEND just look too good compared to VS. They stomped SMB who was also very strong, and Zeek, Starxo, and Cned (of course) look like they are on another level right now.

I really dont get it.

edit - i hope people dont think im trying to shit on VS. i want them to win just not confident in it.

I like VS but i have to agree with you. Acend just look better. The only somewhat justified argument someone can use is that VS were just saving strats and have more up their sleeve while Acend had to actually tryhard a lot and give everything they had against SMB since SMB had beaten them in their previous matchup in the EMEA tournament and they didn’t want to risk anything.

I agree with you but hey you never know if VS plays clean and well it could go either way. And lets wait until PRX vs SMB and see if they really are underrated or not. Do you have them beating Turkey?

honestly its hard to say... before the tournament i would say SMB would destroy PRX but their insane underperformance vs ace and prx's promising games has made my perception of the group all mixed up

i still think smb will win but i can see a world where f0rsaken goes crazy and carries prx to a win

PRX is by no means the worst team at the event. Maybe the weakest team in their group, but we all knew the JP teams are the worst teams in the tournament since the beginning. SEA teams are actually decent.

Personally, I think the VS vs Acend match will be much closer than SMB vs Acend. You could say Acend dominated that first match but SMB really didnt perform like they did on EMEA playoffs (online). Hell, I dare say PRX can actually beat SMB if SMB doesn't step their game up. So yeah, I think Acend vs VS can go either way. I could be wrong, well see.

Pretty sure PRX said that they usually got 24-0ed by VS so I do think that their relative success on LAN might be bad news for VS. I agree that VS most definitely has trap plays and cools starts for tomorrow but if they aren't on their A game mechanics wise, it won't matter, Acend is definitely toe to toe with Sentinels in terms of pure mechanics.

i don't know about that. Cned is insane, for sure, but VS look pretty shaky last game, and not playing like they usually do. We will see tomorrow but i think VS can beat Acend if they are on one

I mean Nuturn showed that a Korean team can have a deep run in an international event. I'm not saying VS is Nuturn, and I understand that Acend is probably the best in Europe right now, but VS has a lot of potential to pull an upset here.

I think Acend have the upper hand, but people shouldn't be using the PRX game to judge VS's skill

I don't have the exact interview, but after the match against PRX, I remember VS literally apologizing for it being so unnecessarily close, almost as if they were telling ppl that they were hiding strats

They didnt ban it because it was their best map or because they had a hidden strat, it was because Paper Rex plays Ascent and they dont want Paper Rex to be able to play the maps that they want to. VS is good on most maps but their best maps have to be Haven and Bind

VS hasn't proved anything up against teams from other regions other than PRX. And we don't even know how good PRX is. This means that PRX and VS pretty much have a close skill level. Also, nobody knows which team/region is the worst until the end of Berlin.

VS isn't expected to win because people kept talking about EU/NA and another region is kinda left out so people don't have much expectations from them. Also from fanbase-wise, EU has a larger fanbase because first, they have more teams in Berlin and people expect them to match up against teams like 100T and Sentinels.

bro its so clear that Brazil is by far the worst out of everyone in the international tourneys, even x10 beat them in the previous internationals. This time we saw that Paper Rex was able to go toe to toe with VS and even destroy them on some rounds. In my opinion if the players in SEA gain a little more confidence about their skill they'd be some of the top teams in the international stage. Now Paper Rex as the only team coming from SEA are going to be showing off their skill against SMB and I really do hope that Paper Rex dont get flustered cause I think even if they do lose, it will be one hell of a fun match to watch

x10 lost againts vikings in Iceland btw, I think Japan is worse than Brazil. Brazil also showed an insane fight againts NV last game. Personally I think the rank of region based on Berlin and Iceland now is
