It's funny how even in the Japanese region, the south korean players dominate.

Honestly, why is this the case? Japan has a huge fan base, so surely they also have a good talent pool. What's missing?

Japan's talent pool is growing for sure. It's just playing the catch-up game

JP tier-2 has higher salaries than KR, so good Korean players are inclined to move here more

They can also farm JP league and make a name for himself(like iZu who got himself a spot in T1 after playing in Japan)

Japan has some good talent but they're still not on the level of Korea

Japan don't grind VALO. They play games like a variety streamer lmao. One day they will play valo, then jump back to Apex, LoL, SF6 or play single player games. It's like they just play whatever they feel like playing

And when they have one, zeta locked him to zeta academy for 1 season ( vorz before joining riddle) 😭

Now that I think about that's probably the reason why ex zeta academy players have seen success, it's because of vorz( probably).

I'm willing to wait 1 or 2 seasons to see what kreamer(new zeta academy coach) can cook tho.

If he’s good enough, surely he will coach in Pacific right????

The "good talent pool" didn't exist until the first half of this year. Only now are talents like Absol showing up. And I don't know what is OP talking about. This year is the one year where Koreans aren't overwhelmingly dominating, which are the signs of improvement. It will take another full year for more talents to show up.

This is what happens when imports take up the majority of spots. Local talents don't get an opportunity to develop.

It's getting better for japanese players tho. Compared to last year. Besides, it's not as if korean players dominating= japanese players are shit. New talents from Japan are coming out , so I'm optimistic about this .

It's also the fact that Korea is just another level in terms of talent pool and Japan having the higher salary really dampens player's development.

Separate the Korean players equally among apac region and you will see that Japan isn't as bad as everyone makes them out to be.

Lots of good Korean players go to Japan because they get paid more
