because if you made GC 18+ 80% of the teams would disband.

it's because they don't want high school dropouts in tier 1 while in tier 2 and gc you can play from your home

school usually doesnt affect if you are good/bad at videogames but video games can affect your grades in school

That's not the point. Riot doesn't want a person who will drop out of high school, fail in tier 1, and get dropped without a backup career.

you didn’t even make sense with this comment. i HIGHLY doubt riot would care if you dropped out of high school or not to make a career in gaming lol.

fym ion even make sense. school is legit one of the reasons why riot doesn't allow kids under 18.

That too, but usually it's parents who sign those if you are under 18.

its not because of school, lol, because of contracts, you have to relocate to play Tier 1 ( living on your own and you have to be a messed up parent to make a 17 year old live on there own ) theres a few factors for this reasoning but I promise school is not the main one lol.

i legit said that school is one of the main reasons. there are many reasons why a person can't play when they are under 18 and I agree with your reason. you just said that my reason is wrong and doesn't make sense.

But its not school lol. is what im saying. theres nothing in the riot handbook that says you have to graduate highschool to play lmao. anyone can play a damn video game

That's not the reason lmao miniboo was playing in tier 1 despite still being in school. The only reason they have the age req at 18 is because of child labor laws as playing for a team is considered "working" unlike before franchising where people would play from home so it wouldn't be considered "working". Despite most places having lower ages for these laws they just rounded it up to 18 since that's the average for most places around the world.

because you need to sign contracts for T1, but you don't have to sign anything in the non-International Leagues(ie. challengers, GC, or collegiate)

So are Gc players not getting payed?

Don't HAVE to, not can't. You need to sign for VCT, you don't need to for GC just like you don't need to but can for Challengers
