so which is the better team FNC 2023 or GenG 2024
FNC 2023 is hailed by many to be the best team to ever touch Valorant to date where they won 2 back-to-back international titles one of which was a masters.
GenG 2024 has made it to 2 masters grand finals in 2024(both in dominant fashion). but they choked in 1 final and therefore have won only 1 international title but the dominance is the same.

The level of play in 2023 was not higher. Remove those rose tinted glasses you have on and you'll actually see how much teams have improved from 2023

in 2024 i feel like a lot of matches and a lot of rounds were won just solely based off of one team making several mistakes, whereas in 2023 there were less throws and just the competitive environment was an overall higher level than it is here in 2024.
you should randomly pick like 3 games from masters and champs events in 2023 and compare them to any random 3 games in madrid and shanghai and you will understand

There was just 1 comp in a ton of maps that everyone played so ofc it'd look "better"
2024 we atleast have different reasonable comps in a map (even ascent lmao) so obviously it'd look like it's full of mistakes (although I'd say it's only some teams that throw games too much it's not that terribly different from 2023)

Meanwhile, Gen.G has struggled against FPX, Leviathan, and EDG
They also went 3-3 in groups while Fnatic went 9-0. This shouldnt be a comparison imo

i think the level of play is subjective per person
unless its REALLY obvious, I think you could make a case for both.
I alr gave my reasons why I thought 2023 had a higher level of play, teams just looked more well prepared and cooridinated
