After two disappointing losses at the hands of North America's second seed, Heretics entered the lower final of Shanghai with a vengeance. G2's map pick of Bind could not have gone worse for North America's last hope as they were forced to submit in one of the quickest matches of the event.

Turkish flex Wo0t led his team with inhuman stats: the youngster died a total of six times on Map 1 while ending with 20 kills. A monstrous ACS of 360 accompanied by a 58% headshot percentage told the story as G2 were simply unable to find a solution for the substitute duelist. After just 15 rounds of play, Heretics closed out Bind 13-2.

Turkish aim.

Looking to reset their mental, G2 entered Heretics' pick of Icebox strong by taking the pistol and a close second round. However, the same overwhelming layers of play from Heretics dictated the match early on, allowing for EMEA's pride to secure eight whole rounds to end the first half 8-4.

RieNs stepped up to ensure that Wo0t was not the only Turkish player to draw roars from the crowd as he ended Icebox with 21 kills and an ACS of 279. Despite his continuous fragging and support, Wo0t still managed to hit the clip of the map and assist in bringing Heretics to a final scoreline of 13-6 on the box.

Someone check on the NA fans, please.

The last time Heretics took G2 to series point, they choked a huge lead on Ascent and were reverse-swept by the North Americans. Today, they made sure fans knew it was a fluke. A fast start on G2's pick of Lotus saw TH take an early 4-0 lead off the back of many mistakes on their opponents' side. G2 often gave openers or could not capitalize off of team fights over all three maps, and Heretics were all for it.

Stand-in paTiTek was a menace on Viper, swapping off the Initiator role and playing for a more passive lurk style that allowed him to strike his prey when they least expected it. Rookie icy attempted to salvage his team with a notable performance on Raze, but the game was already over by the time G2 could gather their bearings.

Whenever G2 seemed to have an advantage, round after round would fall apart before their very eyes. After a much-needed timeout on Round 7 from JoshRT following a Boo 3K, it took Heretics only one round and a paTiTek 1HP ace to prompt another from G2.

Just a sub, btw.

North America's last hope tried to muster the means of performing another nearly-impossible comeback, but the magic dust had already been exhausted enough, and the attack half of Lotus quickly came to a close as Heretics dragged a kicking and screaming G2 to the airport courtesy of a 13-8 scoreline.

G2 only managed to grab 16 of 39 rounds over three maps.

Heretics are now on the verge of securing EMEA yet another trophy. Only one team remains in their way: Gen.G.
