Please help me by recommending some facewash or anti-acne cream /lotion. I had gone for a dermatologist like 5 months ago but it didn't work out , and I also drink a lot of water and baths very well. Just help me out guys !!

What you eat is more important. Stop processed sugar .

Yeah , I do consume a lot of sugar from milk tea and I try not to consume any foods that contains a lot of oil as I prefer boiled foods

Eating oil doesn't cause oily face . Processed sugar causes rapid blood sugar rise which in turn cause insulin spike and other anabolic pathway. That's what initiate sebaceous glands produce oil on which propionibacterium feeds .
Milk is very bad for acne .

Yeah . What i hate most about medical school is that they don't even bother with nutrition and stuff . Our dermatology teacher said on 1st day that half of dermatology is what you put into your mouth and half is corticosteroids lol .

Change Pillow covers more often
there r a lot of bacteria and dead skin cells on it

Wash face atleast 2x a day
Dont use too harsh exfoliants, it will damage your skin, which will lead to more acne
Retinol is good for acne (im not sure)
Moisturerizer is very important

can vouch this is basically how i got rid of mine, retinol is great and exfoliants are also great just use them both sparingly at first. only wash face twice a day if you feel that it needs cleaning that often, otherwise once a day is fine for most people

is la roche posay exfoliant good ?

#96
ct_fd_str

im usin neutrogena
i heard that Paula's choice liquid exfoliant is rlly good

#99
sktt
1
Frags

if it's a chemical (liquid) exfoliant it might be worth trying - stick to chemical exfoliants only, do not if it's a grainy scrub exfoliant. i've only ever tried the la roche posay retinol & moistourizers so i can't vouch for their exfoliants. personally, i've only used paula's choice bha exfoliant.

if you want specific product recommendations - shereene idriss on yt is my go to. she has whole videos of routines, guides & tips where she lists her product recs that i've always just picked from. hyram is also good to watch on yt, i've used some of his recs in the past.

but i will say my acne was quite mild as far as how bad acne can get. if it's extremely bad it might be worth going to a different professional from the one you visited and asking for an allergy test, ik somebody that had cystic acne that went down that route. their derm then put them onto products they weren't allergic to and their skin cleared up p nicely so that might be worth considering.

You also need to exercise and also sweat and clean.
Dont eat fatty food.
Stay hydrated.
Exercising help a lot with skincare along with good hygiene, more healthy and releases stress as well. Trust.

If it's hormonal then it's pretty difficult to fix.

But I started using Silk pillow cases which has helped a lot(prevents dry and itchy skin allowing the skin to retain moisture), I also recommend drinking 4L of water a day and in my case minimalizing the amount of skin care products that I used during my routine helped. I only use moisturiser and cleanser consistently and I use an exfoliant once every 2/3 weeks because of how stripping it can be to my skin

Last resort is accutane.

Causes of acne do vary from person to person though. Go see a dermatologist if it bothers you that much.

figure out your type of skin

for me, ive been copying f0rsaken's skincare routine. make sure to always apply skincare in the morning and night and dont skip at night, especially if you apply stuff in the morning

use an oil and foam cleanser to double cleanse. oil removes oil, dirt, sunscreen etc. only double cleanse in the night. use a toner to hydrate your skin itself and always moisturize

use a low-dose retinol 2-3x a week if youre just starting only at night

if you're good with vitamin c, use it 1x a week in the morning. niacinamide is a savior too and can be applied day and night

ALWAYS APPLY SUNSCREEN EVERY DAY!!!!! EVEN IF ITS NOT BRIGHT YOU STILL ARE GETTING EXPOSED TO THE SUN!!! THE SUN CAN RUIN YOUR EFFORT IN JUST MINUTES!!!! MAKE SURE ITS SPF >50!!!

just search acne prone skincare guides and it should help. if youve had acne for a while it can definitely take >1 year for things to take effect. 8 months in and my skin feels so much more hydrated and less oily especially on my face

Here is a skincare routine

Morning:

  1. Just wash face with water and dunk it in ice cold bucket of water
  2. Apply moisturizer
  3. Apply spf sunscreen

Evening

  1. Use SALICYLIC acid face wash
  2. Apply retinol
  3. Moisturize

PS: Do NOT sleep with your face touching the pillow. Sleep on your back. Don’t touch your face. And after washing your face, dry it with a clean paper towel

ok I will further investigate for a proper skin care routine

#78
ShuGo
0
Frags
+

Save this routine order to use later since it's hard finding a proper one for some fucking reason

Oil Cleanser > Cleanser > BHA > Toner > Essence > Serum > Moisturizer > Sunscreen
Oil Cleanser, Toner, Essence, and Serum are optional to buy
Sunscreen is to protect your skin from the sun when you go out, so buy it if you go out a lot

Weekly: AHA/BHA/SA (1 to 3 times max; do what Seulgi said)
Daily: Toner, Essence, Serum (either Morning or Night)

Morning: Cleanser, Moisturizer, Sunscreen
Night: Oil Cleanser, Cleanser, Moisturizer

Ask your family/friends for some of their products to use and see if there's any effects then buy them 😂
They're like $10-15 USD each over here

#80

I looked for it here in my country and it cost around 30 usd for all these products.

The fact is that Im from northeast India and we prefer less oilly foods and boiled food over oilly foods and foods that contains a lots of masala in the curry as north and south indians have or consume and the weather is super chill doesn't change the fact I have a well shitty acne face 🥹💔

1)drink tons of water
2) leave your face alone (no or minimal face cream)
3) cleanliness
4)avoid washing yr face often in a day(wash yr eyes if need be)
5)eat fruits or drink juice.
Also, at this age its common to have acne and their is no 100% medicine for that. Its just your body going through hormonal imbalance.. Good luck!!

Make sure the skincare products you use are compatible with your skin type

You'll probably face sensitivity issues if they don't work

Overall: Oil Cleanser > Cleanser > BHA > Toner > Essence > Serum > Moisturizer > Sunscreen

Just buy a Cleanser, SA/BHA/ASA, Moisturizer, and Sunscreen (to protect your face)

Change your sheets often. Your pillow case can hold a lot of dirt. That goes for anything that touches your face. Wash your hands before you wash your face. My derm recommends Cetaphil but truly consistency is key. You can keep your routine simple with just the cleanser and moisturizer.

And yeah I will follow a strict face routine everyday by applying Cetaphil, oil cleanser and salicyclic acid facewash morning and evening . Thanks for your kind words guys !!!

I recently switched to Korean skincare, my skin got better in 3 weeks with even skin tone and even texture
Morning:
1) With cold water, wet your face, Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Cleanser, wash with warm water
2) Cera Ve Eye repair cream, for under eyes
3) Round lab Soybean Panthenol Ampoule, just 2-4 drops and massage your face
4) Round lab 1025 Dokdo Light cream, for last moisture lockstep
5) If I go out, Neutrogena 80 spf sports sunscreen, apply on body and face after every 3 hours
6) Nivea lip oil/lip balm for lips

Night:
1) With cold water, wet your face, Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Cleanser, wash with warm water
2) DewyTree hydrating Aqua Mask, on your acne-prone areas for 3-4 mins, massage in the remaining liquid on your face. (2-3 times a week)
3)Round lab Soybean Panthenol Ampoule, just 2-4 drops and massage your face again
4) Cera Ve Eye repair cream, for under eyes
5) Either ROUND LAB Soybean Panthenol Cream or Round lab 1025 Dokdo Light cream, for last moisture lockstep
6) Nivea lip oil/lip balm for lips

Apply everything to a small amount.
Change the pillow case every 20 days, and wash your hair frequently to reduce oil and dust buildup. Drink more water or more cold-pressed juices . Stop touching your face completely.
WASH YOUR HANDS BEFORE DOING SKINCARE.

Yeah, they're pricey as fuck since 1 product will cost $10 USD minimum
These 3 are what you should get to use (with a $50 USD budget) until you have more money

Daily, 1-3x Weekly, Daily

its good to figure out how oily your skin is and get certain products tailored towards how oily it is. Its important to note that not all products tailored to your skin composition will work. The composition of your natural oils might not be as compatible with most mainstream products.

ma:nyo oil cleanser is good to use
also cerave and cetaphil are pretty versatile.
i think Cerave works better with less oily skin while cetaphil is better for more sensitive skin
