Every clutch is a throw to some extent. If you have an man advantage you should be coming out on top.

To be fair ASE threw that round by just rushing him 1 by 1.

Not really, the best clutches are won from instant aim diffs and/or macro outplays. teams can coordinate themselves perfectly but could still lose thru a clutch.

Like for Ardiis' clutch, DRX didn't misplay whatsoever. Buzz got caught repositioning that was hard to punish, Mako swung off contact but couldn't land the kill and left Ardiis on 1, then stax just gets fucked instantly waiting for the swing.

I mean buzz didn't have to updraft. He could've just waited for stax and they could've double swung and if Ardiss didn't peak yet then they could hold the angle and walk up. Ardiis had no time or space to reposition and Mako could just swing off contact if he decided to peak gen from the double swing. Still incredibly impressive though.

He went for the updraft because Mako had the trade on lock so if Ardiis peaked for the punish then he dies, trade didn't go through though because of the aim diff so it's not really anyone's fault on DRX there. If he got the reposition through without Ardiis swinging then the round's guaranteed over at that point.

I just feel like if buzz had waited for stax to jump down gen with him it would've been a lot easier to kill him than going for an updraft reposition. Ardiis got fade eyed and stax had jumped off heaven so he would've seen if he had repositioned. It would be impossible for him to reposition in time without making any noise. Also stax used a prowler so they knew he was in the corner.

alfa 1v2 was more of the significance of the round then the mechanical difficulty of the clutch

criteria for good clutches includes significance of the round, absurdity of the clutch, and the skill
