Why are teams allowing SEN to pick this map? I am genuinely curious. Edit: This happened in the past with other teams as well. FNC's Lotus wasn't banned that much and EG's Fracture as well
It's a matter of how much confidence you have in your own play.
If you respected KRU's best maps then you'd have to prioritize playing their bad maps vs playing your good maps.
For teams that are contenders to win Madrid, they have to have a certain amount of ego in their map selection otherwise you might be inhibiting yourself
Obsidian_Echo [#6]geng will be the perfect counter to sen in terms of map pool ...split and sunset are their bottom 2 maps i think
wont that mean gen g automatically start 1 map down 💀

Geng does better on Jett maps and Lotus. They will probably ban split/sunset against Sen.
kaesra [#8]wont that mean gen g automatically start 1 map down 💀
i mean yeah but they will be favored in the rest of the 2 maps tho so idk

yeah thats what i meant..they should ban split against sen

yes, Sen will probably ban Icebox/Ascent

i think whoever wins bind/lotus wins the series
EntryKJ [#12]yes, Sen will probably ban Icebox/Ascent
sen will definitely ban icebox i think, they have been picking team a and banning icebox, which should imply thats their permaban kinda.....so sen pick sunset, geng pick ascent, sen ban breeze, gen ban lotus and we play bind last....gigabanger

I think it will be either a 2-0 win for Sen or a 1-2 win for Geng.

Geng should be favored in BO5, but Sen has been improving fast.

i think it absolutely depends on sens 1st ban if thats the case, u simply cant beat geng on ascent
KC was 3-1 on Split throughout EMEA Kickoffs, and for comparison SEN was 5-2 (5-1 if you don't consider their loss to G2 on it). KC probably felt pretty confident in their protocols and strategy on the map considering they were also really solid on Split in their Kickoff event. Not to mention Sentinels having played the map 7 times giving them a lot of footage to review.
dawnmoer [#4]
- they think they can anti-strat since SEN have so much footage
- their perma ban isn’t split
- they’re scared of SEN’s other maps
which map from SEN cna scare u more than SPlit?
Ha4dy [#22]which map from SEN cna scare u more than SPlit?
I would say Sunset. If teams are deciding between banning Split or Sunset against SEN, they'll probably pick the map they're more comfortable on, which happens to be Split.
noxx [#3]KC beat fnatic on split + SEN played split a lot so a lot of anti stratting could be done in theory but so far SEN look far ahead and they just change enough stuff around to throw the other team off guard
engh was saying in the post match interview shit that anti stratting sens split was really hard to do, should’ve been a sign tbh
Ha4dy [#25]i dont think their sunset is better than their split
it’s abt how kc isn’t good at sunset though i’m pretty sure
(i didn’t watch their games i’m just assuming)

yeah the only way u can beat them is u have to manipulate rotations but they just seem to know when its a fake and when its a hit, they dont fall for anything and most of it is just on the back of playing loosely and not having any set strats which makes it super hard to anti. The only holes they have in that map are on the attack side and even then its solid

they can go 1-11 on attack and id still bet on them winning split defense

yeah u have to just get incredibly lucky and hope both zekken and tenz are just having an off game
Ha4dy [#25]i dont think their sunset is better than their split
kc banned it though so they must have been scared of their sunset
