All the CS streamers get like 5k viewers at most. People like KennyS who ive heard is one of the best awpers of all time has 3k viewers rn. I have never seen a high view count streamer playing CS in all my time in twitch or youtube. While pros in Val get high numbers, asuna gets 10k, sick gets 8k, shaz gets like 15k. Do cs players just dont care about streaming and building their brand, rather just focus on grinding offstream? If so, where cs fans get content? do they just watch thescore esports and chill?

S1mple streams CS rarely , but when he does he gets around 30-35k
And KennyS era is over , people dont prefer watching him as much now

Exactly. The major tournaments still live on just because most part of the Valorant comunity came from CS and still wants to know who won.

S1mple brings in most of the views for CS.

As for CS views in general, there was a period in time where all the twitch records were held by CS so there is that history that it has.

CS:GO content has been on the decline for years, and the current state of the scene has made it only worse. Elige made a great thread and a great comment which provides some good insight from a pro player prospective.

There are multiple points you could make about the game's decline in content creation and ambition. The lack of major updates. The lack of Majors and strong esports storylines. The stagnant matchmaking system. The lack of a solid and fun casual gamemode. The decay of Rank S and FPL. Cushy contracts discouraging pro players from streaming and pushing content creation.

Esports is only one part of a game's ecosystem, and unfortunately Valve has chosen to be negligent and ride the wave of CS:GO's past dominance until the money dries up. The CS:GO ecosystem is stagnating, and in some cases withering away, and it'll bring down the scene with it when it does.
