Demon1 didn't play in the first half of the year, and he was good but not great for the second half of the Americas League and Masters Tokyo. He was only elite at Champs (which is a huge deal that boosts him into the top 20), and his importance in the transformation of EG gives him a top 10 spot, but I think recency bias is really making people forget that for the majority of the year, he wasn't a top 20 player. Sayf absolutely dominated the EMEA league, and I give him a lot of credit for carrying a TL roster that I thought was pretty bad overall.
f0rsaken is nowhere near this list for his 2023 performance although he could definitely get back onto it next year. Jinggg was a top honorable mention, but his playstyle didn't translate to good performances against top teams even though PRX were winning.
my brother in christ Demon1 was ranked 9th in Americas and 11th in Masters according to your own vlr rating system, I don't understand how that's not a great performance. You're specifically viewing the 2nd half of both tournaments as an indicator on why he wasn't great when that should straight up be redundant because why are we just going to discount the 1st half to begin with? The claim that he wasn't even great during the 2nd half of Americas & Masters literally isn't true to begin with at all.
Sayf had a dominant performance during the EMEA league, but this is a performance ranking of players for the entirety of 2023. You mention on how Demon1 was only elite at Champs (which is just straight up not true btw) when Sayf was literally that this year, he had a forgettable LOCK//IN experience, a dominant performance during the EMEA League, average-good performance during Masters, and an average performance during Champs.
Obviously I think there's a bunch of other things I don't agree with including some that's A LOT more egregious, but some of the basis of this ranking in what you're telling me here literally make no sense whatsoever. The fact that you made that tier list in like 5 minutes also gives off the impression that you made some of these discussions like Sayf being way higher than Demon1 without even putting thought into it which is imo even crazier.
