ESL (cs)

ESL cs just completely cut off Asian teams from their basically GC tournaments and lessened Americas (NA+SA) slots, which were already very little compared to EU slots. Its just their fem/gc tournaments for now but I can totally see this happen to the normal circuit, given the sad state of Americas and Asia in CS.
If any other big cs tournament organizers start doing shit like this, ESPECIALLY if it’s in the main scene rather than the women’s/gc type scene, it’s literally just over for CS. Even though EU is objectively just better than the other regions the pro scene cannot live if it doesn’t have international competition of some kind. Also, the continuation of this would practically kill the game outside of Europe, or at least make it gain way less players in the non-eu regions
Do you guys think they go back on their decision or do you think they stick with it? And do you think any other TO’s will follow suit if they do?

I know. I said in the post that i understand EU is just objectively better in CS. The point is that the game will struggle massively if TO's only allow teams from Europe to play, the esports will lose an assload of viewers if they have no team to represent them, less new players will come to CS, and a bunch of other shit will happen

It is in EU CS' best interest to keep the other regions around, not just for free wins in tournaments, but also because it brings money, viewers, and new players to cs that CS needs in order to keep its status as a big game/esport. If CS becomes an EU-Only esport, it makes the game and the esport worse for everyone - the entire point of the major is that the best teams from around the world compete for the win, but if its just teams from europe, who cares? It is no longer interesting, it just becomes yet another regional tournament, with more of the same matchups we've seen over and over and over, people will lose interest and the game will die, at least esports wise.

ESL Impact (the tournament he mentioned, would be held following GC) berth allocation:
EU 3 NA 2 SA 2 APAC 1

Nigma Galaxy had won all 5 champions since 2022, while it couldn't beat mimi-juliano sides before they switched to VALORANT. After juliano returned to CS, she had never qualified to ESL Impact till now.

For APAC, their's only 7 teams competed in qualifier. But you North Americans had never beaten Chinese club HSG yet. HSG's hffo had switched to VALORANT after a team infighting, while veteran 720 had also switched. Finally, kohaibi was a CSGO player had never won against current HSG core.
