you create an lcq for the teams that got cheated on, and give those teams a chance to recompete? How does pouring thousands of dollars into an org and then getting fucked by cheats equate a good decision???
The orgs are already saying screw this and bailing, and you just give them more reasons to say I'm good.
Not free handout, just a separate bracket with all the teams who lost to noot noot in this tournament and whoever wins that bracket plays the game from yesterday against COL instead of noot noot. Fair decision, giving everyone another chance to prove they deserve to get here. Just one game being affected ( the game that didn't even get to end because of the cheating detection, which, sadly, happened way too late for other teams).
There are things that do certainly suck about this, but many that also suck with the other couple decisions that could be made.
Cons of this situtation:
- team unfairly lost to a cheater, and was eliminated in the subsequent match partially due to this.
Pros:
- Matches continued as scheduled. Best for viewer, tournament organizer, and the remaining 4 teams.
Another solution that couldve been taken:
Forfeit noot noot and redo matches between DSG and Shopify, and then whoever loses plays Complexity.
Cons:
- Bad for viewer/tournament organizer, as previously scheduled matches are being replayed, which may confuse viewer, and causes more strain on production.
- Unfair for Shopify and Complexity who already won their matches against the team who cheated.
Pros:
- Disguised get another chance
Another solution that is ultimately trivial and has no importance.
Replace noot noot's match results with disguised's and vice versa.
Why is this trivial?
-In GC, anything less than 4th does not get prize pool.
-Although they would get an increase in circuit points, they would not be able to qualify anyway.
Overall, their response was the best response.

imagine dsg auto win -> so dsg vs Shopify -> dsg win
now either shop or complexity will get knocked out despite both winning their games against noot noot
or do you even have to redo part of the qualifiers so other teams dont get screwed over?
it just creates a mess and games will have be rushed with little prep time to stay at least somewhat close to schedule
And ofc it sucks for dsg, like it reeeealy sucks, but at least from a TO perspective this makes sense
COL did not win vs noot noot, it went 1-1. Then noot noot got disqualified, same could have happened in any other game noot noot played in this tournament. Make separate bracket with all teams who lost vs noot noot, winner of bracket plays the game from yesterday with COL instead of noot noot. No matches get influenced
