How does China have 3 slots for champions?
Ravencrow [#5]I'm not hating just curious on how, not a region btw just a country getting 3 slots when they can barely make it out of group stage LAN.
they tryna grow the scene

china is considered a region....leaving the obvious reason aside, it also helps the region to grow faster specially since valorant hasnt releases in china yet...otherwise they will just stay competing among themselves for no reason

Because Riot want them to catch up, giving them the exposure of experiencing international tournament against the best teams in the world. Plus with the exclusive slot they are given by Riot would most definitely grow the scene even bigger in China, since competing against the best team around the world and win against them is the dream of literally every pro players.

"just a country" has 4x the population of the United States+Canada(NA region)
derptz [#14]Ofc they deserved it. China viewers alone carried the whole vct viewers.
you mean bots? I have no idea about val's popularity in China but they're known for stream botting.

I'm aware of that, but doesn't mean you should cater them with easily 3 slots on the biggest stage right? Don't you think their "country" should work their way in for those slots first?

JP used to have 2 slots in the past, Brazil had 2 slots with shit results, why not?
Ravencrow [#24]So no one's bothered with this? Like they have 1 event to qualify to Champions, meanwhile other regions have to go through a haystack just to qualify?
It's actually kinda fd the way they did it. EDG could win Masters and if they fail to make top 3 later on, they miss Champs lol. Won't happen, but they should've done points just like normal regions in previous seasons.

No wonder theres not much quality team coming out of their scene. But that kinda disrupts the quality of matches in majors tho. Like going against a chinese team could easily be a freebie.
