It’s not even speculation it’s obvious that Loud was hiding their map pool in group stage. If loud played fracture/bind/lotus and won in group stage, NRG still makes playoffs and has a higher chance of beating them

Fr. If they shad shown bind even once due to how antistrat focused EG is they couldve even lost against EG. The reason no one is saying fnc is saving strays is bc they played all the map, Loud didn’t

Is there money for playoffs? I don't see it on the VLR event page I checked just now and it changed since yesterday

Also, trophy is cool and all, but all teams who made it to grand final across the 3 Champions Leagues got to Tokyo, so the match really isn't super important except for seeding, i.e. teams likely did not go ALL OUT to win it.

That being said, LOUD looked fantastic, NRG did as well. I think that every single playoffs team can win Tokyo, as can NRG, NAVI, DRX, and EDG (i.e. all on similar peak levels). Great to see the game at this level

LOUD won 100K, while NRG won 65K. It doesn't mention the prize money in EMEA and Pacific, but i'm sure there is a difference there too.

Yes. 100k is over 150% of 65k... Not all the players are rich, an esports scene is extremely competitive, and 7k is a lot of money. Why would they save strats or map pool for Tokyo where they may or may not get grouped anyway, when they can make this chunk of money now?
