This guy did at least one braindead push every round. my man has been finished since LCQ 2022
I agree w/ this if Asuna was supposed to be their star player. Since it should be Cryo, Asuna probably shouldn't be getting compared to Derke and Mako. As a player, he's been more than fine for the team (though he could really use sgares' more disciplined coaching style over the on-the-fly stuff they've been doing since he left).
Dicey was supposed to be the main duelist until the boomers decided Jett probably wasn't gonna stay in the meta and they won't need to op or play double duelist so why not bring in a cs talent in Ethan (who is admittedly very good). Asuna wasn't originally going to be the star but he had to be since he was the tip of the spear for their shoddy execs.
Then 100T continued to miss every. single. meta. until it was too late (astra, chamber, double controller/harbor). As a team, they've only ever really looked cohesive under sgares and even then, WillFPS was supposed to be their star duelist and he underperformed the whole time until they got to a LAN. Maybe Asuna is the only constant, so that could mean he's the problem. But it just seems like from top to bottom, he's generally been above the middle for the team while everyone else around him keeps making the wrong choice.
At least that's the impression I get from having followed this team since Hiko joined.
yeah i don't get the fingers pointing at Asuna when he did throw some rounds, but so did Cryo when he missed a shot or 2. Overall, they both did the best this match (and this split) in the whole team. The underperformers in the split were Derrek (could be cuz of role switches), Stellar,, and weak coaching staff (the initial off-meta gameplans, persistently poor map pool, poor execs/retakes/clearing).
Asuna's still the 2nd best rated player on this team rn. He's been fine for them despite losing them several rounds from overpushing. After 8 weeks of play, they have much bigger problems like Stellar in the bottom 6 (he's barely a decent fragger for them), Stellar's poor mid-rounding, and their inadequate coaching staff (either replace Mikes or add more staff to help w/ the macro gameplans, map pool, and execs).
He has all the skill he just needs to learn some fucking discipline istg he does some stupid push that even if it does work would only result in a 1 for 1 trade and it just makes no sense. My theory is that he’s been enabled far too much by his coaches and teammates in 2020 and 21 to do those braindead pushes bc ppl weren’t skilled enough to punish him yet at that point, but now that he’s act playing against good players and not playing duelist as much he can’t do that same shit all the time
He wasn't doing it nearly as much under sgares if memory serves right. I remember specific rounds where they would NOT overaggress and teammates would start playing together. I think his lack of discipline comes from the weak coaching staff and the preference for on-the-fly calling of the IGL which enables Asuna to sometimes make plays (which can too often look really bad and detrimental)
