I wonder how many valo t2 teams are better than the franchised teams, riot did them dirty.
en3sk0se [#3]we need 3rd party tournaments that t1 and t2 teams participate, this shit is boring asf
ludwig x tarik invitational was so good
I genuinely dont think we are at a point of the game where some tier 2 random team could just come in and dominate/go to the finals of an event. Like dude, we saw EMEA do the same type of thing last year, have a VRL team be promoted to the main league (FOKUS) and they didnt do well at all. Same shit for every single region throughout the two years of VCT.
This typa run aint happening anytime soon (esp with franchsing too lol)
True. Also doesnt help you always have those franchised orgs who completely threw with their roster building. Also we even have stuff like region locks that affect EMEA tier 2 even more (French VRL teams have to have 3 French players etc). Its system that might pay out later on but currently it feels so shit at times.
kirrans [#7]ludwig x tarik invitational was so good
redbull homeground too, especially it was a lan event. i hope they do it with more teams this year

Uh, we literally say The Guard win Stage 1 last year. We saw PRX make 4th at Reykjavik then 2nd at Copenhagen. C9, with the second worst roster technically in NA, are 2nd, arguably 1st in the Americas. MxM is sweeping their group rn in NA VCL. It’s clearly possible

Up until 6 months ago, half of these tier 2 teams in NA were competing against today's t1 teams. The Guard beat Optic for god's sake.
For a time, Faze genuinely looked like the 3rd or 4th best team in NA right before Champions
Ullyr [#12]yeah i don't see this happening in valorant atm. The game is no where close to being solved with new agents/maps consistently the top teams have to keep adapting to all the new metas. Without a good coach and org its really hard for tier 2 tier 3 teams to pull that off.
I mean, meta doesn't change that much
With new agent releases you may see some differences but they are not gamechanging imo

I promise you whoever makes franchising from the ascension tournamentt is going to instantly be top 4 of their league--at least in NA, idk about the other regions

its not if you're talking about winning a master or champions. Literally saying that random tier 2 team can make a grandfinal when teams like DRX, Fnatic, Navi, Loud exists . NRG also finding form like ex optic.

it changes a lot lmao. There's agent that literally defining metas like chamber and harbor. Valorant isn't like cs its more like league. Finding form requires the top team to adapt consistently.

i mean we will find out next year. But hard doubt for NA region atm the tier 1 teams are stack.

The Guard went 0-2 in the LAN and disappeared until LCQ. PRX made Berlin before with a worse roster, they added jingg and prepped for the entire off-season to become insane.
C9 might be the first real underdog (still with leaf, xeppa), if they can actually maintain the form for the whole year. TGRD was the closest thing we had to this.

What I meant is that the addition of a new agent, or a buff/nerf will change some team combinations, but its not a fully tactical change, and its very addaptive
Ullyr [#24]i mean we will find out next year. But hard doubt for NA region atm the tier 1 teams are stack.
The Guard already dumpstered the same Sentinels who beat 100T. They win a lot of their scrims against T1 players.
Same with M80, their team comp is actually fucking perfect. Koalanoob is one of the best awpers in NA, I put him about Demon1.
johnqt and Valyn are actually both better IGL than most of NA except for FNS
Zander can IGL in his own right but is an incredibly smart and cracked smokes player
All of the guard players have more perfect teamwork than all the americas franchised teams except for NRG
Ullyr [#20]its not if you're talking about winning a master or champions. Literally saying that random tier 2 team can make a grandfinal when teams like DRX, Fnatic, Navi, Loud exists . NRG also finding form like ex optic.
Yeah exactly what I kind of mean, for this typa shit to happen, it'd take wayy longer for the game to develop and especially with the fluctuating meta, this will be rare (unless all the stars absolutely align).
Imo, TGRD was fucked by the meta, chamber really didnt suit them, they were dominating on saya jett.
The only way I see this happening is suppose every single team just starts abusing chamber suppose, and suddenly they nerf the shit out of chamber, and every single team comp for teams are fucked, and a new team just happens to nail the new duelist meta perfectly and disrupt the top tier teams by simply playing ahead of the meta because they were too fixated on an agent (this was hypothetical).
juugobr_ [#6]I like franchising though, i think it's good to see the "big teams" always playing at the biggest events but there's this bad side of no underdogs
And some teams being built for franchising leagues are complete booty cough dfm cough koi, cough kru

biggest problem with EMEA tier 2. Spanish/French/Italy/Portugal simply bring no value to the tier 2 talents.
Look at Polaris, it was easily the most competitive and best VRL last year, but no sponsors, fucked the league up.
We need VRLs condensed, EU 1, EU 2, Turkey, CIS, MENA. They also gotta let CIS players and teams be made, they are completely destroyed. Teams like FPX, Gambit, Navi all qualified from CIS. Lots of solid players with no teams. Just pathetic. Other than turkey, all the leagues are in a downward spiral.

So basically what GamerLegion did. GamerLegion made the Rio Major bro

Oh so its like PRX typa shit? So yeah it can happen in valorant of course. I thought GamerLegion was like some randoms or tier 2 team from scratch. We also had exciting flukes this happening like ZETA, PRX, KRU and Envy run from 3rd in NA to Finals of Berlin absolutely wiping all the NA teams.

t2 teams can easily beat teams like dfm, kru for sure. they dont need to dominate to prove that they are more deserve franchising slots.
Cresp [#22]Imo ascension teams should be able to get into lcq that way we could have the possibility of t2 teams in champs.
Best way to go about it with this dumbass system.
i literally thought that was what the lcq was meant for but making a lcq after a league and not even letting players get a transfer window before it is just braindead imo, not only because of last places but because of teams who need it because they literally have a fucking assistant coach replacing a player LMAO.
Shuaaa [#30]And some teams being built for franchising leagues are complete booty cough dfm cough koi, cough kru
kru could beat any americas team besides nrg, c9, and loud

FireFlux literally clears half the EMEA table.

I think a better system would be literally what we had for champions last year. 12 teams from all of EMEA. 2 get relegated, 2 get promoted from a VRL tournament.
supernova [#13]no thank you
Franchise >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 0 fans teams in big events finals
-Supernova The King of Valorant
This guy prefers org clout over better quality valorant
S3V3N [#37]kru could beat any americas team besides nrg, c9, and loud
Alright grandma that's enough time for your bed time
