I feel like if Valve did it once already and it didn't work why would they do it again.
I love CS, but the pattern is repeating itself and it sorta hurts for my own nastalgia.

edit: and just to be clear, i couldnt care less if you wanted to try to dunk on csgo and say valorant is better or whatever, but it's idiotic to misconstrue statistics and make them appear as anything else than what they actually are just to favor your argument.

Idk why people think this way. the reason why valorant is so much more popular is because the gun mechanics are so much easier. It's literally made with a very very low skill floor (and skill ceiling) specifically to appeal the masses.
CS is too hard, they ain't leaving. Imagine leaving to CS where a team with s1mple, electronic and b1t has to sweat to win matches. Val pros would just get embarrassed. it's not happening, they're different games, leave it.

i don't think dota ruined itself, the game itself (balancing, heroes, meta) is amazing. it just doesn't have the marketing among public like league has, and the entry barrier to play the game is pretty high, there's a lot of stuff to learn at first, unlike league which has a more streamlined experience and is easier on newbies
that being said, i've seen a players moving from league to dota, and never going back :D
also, dota allstars was a mod, not a valve launch
What does DotA All Stars (the community map created 2003 as Warcraft III mod) has to do with Valve? Valve only got rights for DotA starting with DotA2.
Also, why didn't you include the first Counter-Strike game, if you're using the first DotA as reference? (1.0 released in 2000) or maybe Counter-Strike 1.5 when Valve actually started supporting it with $$
